Good day overall but incorrect infomation given by the company

Most of the day was good, however Viator provided the wrong information on the visa to enter Zimbabwe which caused a hugh problem and great upset to myself as no one likes having their passport and dollars thrown at them by immigration!

Nature's wonder

The most magical place in the world , if you are not in awe of these falls I don't know what would impress you. We were lucky as the falls were in full flow so even with raincoats we were still soaked to the skin but we loved it. I could happily stay here forever. Entry price is reasonable and worth every penny, it is no wonder this is classed as one of nature's seven wonders . There are numerous viewing points and photo opportunities just make sure you have your camera weather sealed ( I ruined a £2k lens with water ingress ) and that you buy or hire the waterproof capes to limit how wet you get. I could happily watch these every day so a one day trip is a must

Not worth the money

The tour itself is good, waterfalls are amazing, but it is not at all worth the money you pay for it, especially because entrance fee of 30 USD and transfer of 20 USD are excluded!! Guide was good but there is not much to do - the visit at waterfalls takes maximum 1, 5 hours and you really do not need a guide for going to market. If you need a guide and cannot just cross the birder (which is easy, other conference participants did it) then use just 2 hours tour, not this tour

Dont spend your money - total waste of money (I am polite)

The trip is $147 which is not cheap and total waste of money. You can do it yours for free. Here is how you do it: Ask a driver or the hotel to get a driver ($15 round trip) to bring you to the Victoria Falls(VF) in Zimbabwe. They have to replace cars in the border. Passing immigration is done in a zip. Both sides have tourist lines and it took 30 seconds. When you get to the VF entry pay with Credit card $30 and you are in. No need for a tour guide as you walk on the trail and there are signs everywhere. The guide added nothing. Then if you want can get a taxi to the outlook cafe which is very nice!. Going to the market 1000% waste of time. It a souvenir market and what pissed me off is after I bout small Rino $15 my guide got a cut from the vendor. Then crocodile tour was looking on 2 frozen Croc. Yes, 2!!! The VF park is very nice and we were the only mourns with a guide....

Hi nyfoodie2015 Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. Yes, you can organise your own transport to cross the border. You will need to get a company in Zambia to take you to the border and then a company in Zimbabwe to pick you up. This would not be a $15 round trip and you will need to wait on both sides of the border. I'm glad you had an easy time crossing the border but in peak periods this is not always the case and if you are not with a guide you will have to wait in line. I'm sorry you felt that having a guide was a complete waste of time for the park. We provide guides not to show you the way but to tell you interesting facts about the wildlife, geology and history of this famous African landmark from a local perspective. Lot's of people opt to get a guide and they are not "morons" as you have stated. People travel from around the world to see the Falls and I'd highly recommend spending a bit extra to get a guide so that you don't miss things you otherwise would not have seen. I note you enjoyed the lunch provided for you at Lookout Cafe and us taking you there. The souvenir market is very important to the local community and is in fact how many people in Victoria Falls feed their family's. Most tourists really enjoy the art that they create. Doing the crocodile farm tour was not part of the itinerary so I'm not sure why you have included this in your review. Whilst I appreciate you trying to break down our costs to save people money they are in fact very misleading. Once you add up costs for the full time guide, lunch, transfers and time to prepare your trip I think you'll find them very reasonable for a full day. You cannot do it for free.

Definitely recommended!

As it was rainy season when we visited we were recommended to visit the Falls from the Zimbabwean side. We didn't want to go through the hassle of passing borders and negotiating taxi prices by ourselves so we were looking for a company to guide us through the process. Tamuka Travel was all we really needed and more. Simon and Locks are the best guides ever. Very flexible, enthousiastic and accomodating and with clearly alot of knowledge about the animals and the nature surrounding the Falls. We felt safe and taken care of during the whole tour. Definitely recommended!
