Enjoy a day trip to three of Tuscany’s most iconic destinations: Montalcino, home of the famous Brunello wine; Pienza, renowned for its Pecorino cheese; and Montepulciano, known for its prestigious Nobile wine. Travel through the UNESCO-listed Val d’Orcia aboard a premium air-conditioned minivan with an English-speaking driver and complimentary water. Small group experience, maximum 8 participants. Please note that from November to April, and in case of bad weather, lunch will take place indoors. For tours departing on Mondays, lunch is always served in an indoor restaurant. 08:30AM: Meet our English-speaking driver and lets the tour begin!
09:45AM: The first stop will be in a great winery in Montalcino... The winery is owned by a local family and, talking with them, you will not have the feeling to visit their workplace but their home instead!...You will know everything about Brunello di Montalcino: the vineyard techniques, the wine making process, its ageing and, of course, how to appreciate it by drinking different vintages!
11:30AM: Enjoy a quick stop of 15 minutes to enjoy the castle di Montalcino and its tiny city centre.
12:15PM: Arrived to Pienza, a Papal village famous for its Pecorino cheese, you will have the chance to enjoy a superior lunch in an ex-convent of the XV century and some free time.
2:45PM: Here there we will be guided through an historical cellar called "The underground city" which is located downstairs of a local wine shop. At the exit from the underground city you will be greeted by a tasting of wine and other food specialities. Before leaving we will make sure you have enough time to visit the main square, placed on the top of the town, from where you can take the last pictures!
6:30PM (depending on traffic): Back in Siena

Beautiful scenery, lots of hilly walking, lots of time in 2 wineries & eating lunch. Villages exquisite but too much time on other pleasures

We had a great day. Mike was our driver and very knowledgeable with history and explained many things as we went from town to town. The wineries chosen were great! The guides there were wonderful, took their time to explain everything. We really enjoyed the experience.

We had a great experience! Our driver Sal was friendly, engaging and personable. He gave us lots of interesting facts about the area and was prompt and careful to make sure we knew what was going on. Our only issue was there was a little too much emphasis on the wine tasting and not enough time to see and explore the towns of Pienza and Montepulciano. The drive by Montalcino was no more than a “drive by” to get to the winery. We would suggest a little better balance between the exploring the hill towns and the wineries.
