The central square of Athens is dominated by the Greek Parliament (formerly the Royal Palace) and characterized by the high energy level created by the constant movement of people through the city’s busiest crossroads.
For more than three-quarters of a century, this has been the most upmarket neighbourhood in the center of the city; thanks to its cutting-edge boutiques, chic sidewalk cafés and gourmet restaurants, this is where the capital’s beautiful people meet, eat and shop.
Right in the heart of Athens is this politically charged district famous for its progressive social ideas and the dozens of very affordable tavernas, bars and snack-shops filled with university students from the nearby educational institutes.
Long a neighbourhood where local craftsmen worked out of small shops, Psirri is now one of the city’s hottest new spots for evening food and drink. It’s also one of the best places to check out the city’s latest street art.
Hadrian’s library, great street food and an underground river hidden in a metro station await those who come to this antique and flea market area in search of a bargain or a look of one the city’s few surviving Ottoman mosques.

This tour is a very good way to orient you to the city of Athens and its neighborhoods. Elizabeth gave us a lot of insights into both past and present of the city.
Fun and informative. Simos is an excellent guide and shared insights and perspectives into today’s Greece. I enjoyed our walking tour of various neighborhoods in Athens and hearing about their contribution to the city’s development. CMOS was attentive to the requests and questions of participants and worked hard to accommodate all our needs. I definitely recommend this tour.
Super interesting tour with a great tour-guide, knowledgable and passionate about his city, giving a good impression of real life in the different neighborhoods of Athens. Pleasant, good vibes, educational and inspiring.
Excellent tour. Our guide Nickos was not only extremely knowledgeable but also a delight to walk around Athens with. His good humour combined with easy explanations made the experience totally enjoyable. Highly recommended.

Wow! Don’t sleep on this tour. I did three tours while in Athens. And while each one had its own uniqueness, this one was hands down my favorite. We got tours of places you don’t find in the guidebook — with tons of history to boot. Thank you, Elissavet!
Thank you Leo for these explanations that made us understand the evolution of your country both in historical and societal terms with this smile that does not leave you... Bravo...
This was one of the best tours we have ever been on….the weather today was cloudy, chilly and windy but our guide, Nicholas, made us not think about that!!! Our tour lasted over 4 hours and we visited areas that we would never have seen on our own….highly recommend booking this tour if given the opportunity!!!!
This tour was a great high level overview to understand how Greece got to be in the position it is in today. We visited parts of the inner city we probably wouldn't have on our first visit to Athens - some of it a bit posh, and other parts more confronting - and this made it interesting. Andreas is an excellent guide. He takes the time to explain things clearly and answer questions. He is very passionate about the subject matter and his country. We enjoyed this experience and it helped us to see Athens through a different lens. I recommend this tour.
