Udong Mountain and Silk Island
Description
You can choose either Tuk-Tuk or Air-conditioning Minivan. The pick up time is approximately at 8am from the hotel and finish around 4pm. Drive about 45kms/1hour on National Road 5 to the Udong Mountain first in the morning to avoid the hot weather. Once you arrive there, you will conducted by the guide to explore the top of the mountain about 2 hours with walking up and down from north to south. After that you will visit the largest Buddhist center in Cambodia that next the foothill. Over there you will walk with the driver about an hour. It is a good idea to bring the snacks because lunch will be at 1pm at Silk Island by the river with great view. On the way to silk island you will cross Tonle Sap river by bridge and need to cross Mekong river by the ferry. Visiting a silk farm is really interesting also with the farming along the way. This tour is included all entrance fee, water and boat cross also explain at every stops.

Walk up and down around 2 hours to see Five different places on the top of the mountain. There are many story to tell. The Tuk-Tuk driver will also go up with you.
Here we will walk inside the compound as we cant drive in the meditation places. This Place is really good to learn about Buddhism and taking good photo of the mountain and temple buildings and nice garden.
To go to Silk Island we will need to take a ferry crossing Mekong river about 10minutes. once we arrive there we will stop at a local restaurant for lunch with a great view of the Mekong river. After that is driving around the village and then see inside the silk farm with the guide. Lunch is not included.

I went on three tours with Mr Sop. I did the kickboxing one, silk island and a tuktuk to the killing fields. Mr Sop is very knowledgeable and tells great stories to explain the history and culture of Cambodia. I had an early flight and Mr Sop helped organise a quick tour of the killing fields so I could see it before I left at a very good price. Highly recommend especially if you need to tailor the tour to your plans

Mr. Sop was by far the best guide we had during our stay. He took us to amazing places like Udong Mountain and the Buddhist temples of Vipassana Dhurak, and between each stop, he shared fascinating Khmer myths and legends, the country’s history, and its culture—with plenty of humor and good spirits. He was incredibly attentive, making sure we were comfortable and even providing snacks and drinks throughout the tour. Furthermore he is a great photographer 😉 We can’t recommend Mr. Sop enough for anyone wanting to truly experience the beauty of this country!
