Steffan was a great guide. He delivered commentary in English and Spanish and had the plan down to a science. We bought castle tickets for the timeslots mentioned in the details and everything worked perfectly. I felt sorry for those that did not buy tickets in advance because Peles was sold out.
We booked an Italian tour for the scheduled day (Saturday, August 1st). The day before, we were contacted via WhatsApp by the agency, which warned us that since there were only two of us, the tour could not take place. They immediately offered us a refund or to take the one in English. We chose to go in English; being habitual travelers, we have the basics to understand the English of a non-native guide. It was the right choice. The guide, a guy whose name I don't remember, was heroic. Why do I say this? Because of a Rally race in the town near Peles Castle, all traffic was blocked. It seemed impossible to reach the castle. He tried in every way, taking alternative routes, contacting the agency, talking to the police... and in the end... when all seemed lost (including our entrance tickets), he succeeded! As soon as we reached it, his exclamation "that's the fuc#@# Castle" drew an ovation and a long round of applause from the whole van 🤣🤣😃😃! The places visited are splendid. The visit times were perfect. The opportunities to access restrooms throughout the tour were calculated to perfection. In short, everything was perfect! Obviously, the Rally race and the resulting traffic caused delays. We left at 7:45 AM sharp and returned at 11:00 PM. But having said that, the guide was SUPER! (The last kindness he granted us was to drop us off next to our hotel on the way back, since it was a long way to the main street that led to University Square!😊) Recommended agency. Super!
Although this was a very long day, we thoroughly enjoyed seeing all that we did. Dani was an excellent guide and was well versed in all the questions we asked him. He also managed to do this tour in Italian, English and Romanian! Johnny - our driver - was excellent!!
Excellent tour! Everything was well organized, the guide was friendly and informative, and the locations were amazing. Bran Castle and the Transylvanian scenery exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend this tour!
I was with my children and there was understanding. The tour only has the flaw of not allowing too much time for visiting the two castles, but if you want to see everything in one day it can only be like this.
Tickets to attractions not included. Make sure you buy those in addition to the tour. Also be really careful and be sure you buy from the exact vendors
Excellent day! I really enjoyed the tour! Our tour guide, Boyana, was fantastic! He was very knowledgeable and made the tour run effortlessly!
The trip itself is interesting and well-organized. The guides are also knowledgeable and the value for money is good; the only problem is that you go to places invaded and sold out by tourists that no longer have anything authentic, with exaggerated prices. For example, a €20 entrance fee for Dracula's castle, where there is really nothing inside. It should be free. However, if you are in Bucharest, I recommend it.
We recently went on the Gray Line Bucharest tour to Peles Castle, Brasov and Bran Castle. It was a really great tour, despite the long day (12 hours) it wizzed by as there was so much to see. Peles Castle is very picturesque, like being in the Black Forest, Brasov is a beautiful city and worth a visit on its own, and Bran Castle is well… the home of Dracula. Big shout out to the guide Stefan who did an excellent job giving background to each stop in English (and then again in Spanish), and to the best driver in Roumania. He is very funny and his insider knowledge makes for a great commentary during the trip. Also, the driver was super smooth, a wonderful journey through the mountains and absolutely nothing like the fear inducing hairpin bends up the Italian Alps! We did find the joining instructions a little unclear but we worked it out. It’s a big open plaza next to a road, with 4 big statues. Pick up is by the right hand statue (as you face the road from the plaza).
At the beginning we were lost where to find the tour guide. There need to be a sign somewhere in the Bucharest Universit. The only thing is that an hour and half wasn't enough for Lunch in Brasov. Everything else was great! Thank you for a memorable tour. It is suggested to let the tourist know that tickets aren't included. They need to be announced before someone buy the tour tickets.
