The all-around carefree package!

We were welcomed very warmly by Boa immediately upon our arrival at the hotel in Tortuguero. Here, he gave us all the important information for the booked tours (turtle tour and canoe tour) in advance and showed us the respective starting points. He was reachable throughout via WhatsApp and also supported us with booking the national park tickets. The canoe tour was a real highlight of our trip. When we arrived at the meeting point in the morning, we first got coffee and tea with a view of the water while Boa prepared the boat. Afterward, we headed out onto the water. During that time, Boa's girlfriend had already taken care of the national park registration for us. Boa, who knows the area and its animal inhabitants inside and out, was able to show us a wide variety of animals (sloths, iguanas, crocodiles, birds, and much more) every few meters that we would never have found on our own. He had fascinating explanations for every animal, which can be attributed to his many years of experience as a guide. He had high-quality binoculars for us and, when it started to rain, even had ponchos with him for us. We felt very well taken care of in every respect and would recommend Boa and his team to anyone who wants to experience nature in Tortuguero.

Sehr empfehlenswert!

We decided to go on the 6 AM canoe tour, and getting up early was definitely worth it! The tour lasts about 2 hours, and Boa shares lots of interesting information about the animals and the region. We would definitely book the tour again.

Super tour

This tour was one of the highlights of our trip. It was well organized and the guide really spotted everything (also during the night tour, which was also top, snake/sloth/armadillo/frogs). We visited beautiful places during the cano tour, it is a beautiful forest and several beautiful birds and caimans seen. Definitely recommended!

Highly recommended!

We really enjoyed the tour with guide Boa on the water of the National Park. We were kindly welcomed with a cup of coffee. We also got binoculars. Then we went out on the water with an electric-powered boat. Boa knows a lot about nature and the animals that live there. He let us photograph quietly and enjoy all the animals he showed us. He made a lot of effort to paddle through the dense vegetation of the mangrove, electric drive out. That is also possible with an electric boat! It was a great experience!

Simply the best - Travel Tortuguero!

Team Boa, Daniel and Christine - providing top notch customer service and guiding service, with all the necessary equipment, and BEYOND fabluous spotting abilities and skill set. We booked not just one tour but three tours with them. The Sunraise Canoe Tour was amazing, Boa's Canoe/Boat is built for comfort with back rests and had a silent motor allowing one to move silently among the floating tree islands, and in between - allowing for the spotting of many species. His knowledge and eyes at spotting where mind blowing. And, with this lazer pen he assists with guiding your eyes to spot the howler monkeys, slothes, caymen, lizards and countless bird species. In addition, he also has binaculars for participants to use. We were staying at Mawamba Lodge, and as part of the tour a water taxi service picked us up, and took us into town to the meet up. A fabulous tour! Combined with the Jaguar Trail walk - amazing - Boa eyes pick up on the tiny red frogs amongest the brush, to spotting slothes, an speculator ANT EATER to learning about the Jaguar that walks amongest us (didnt see one but did see their claw marks in the trees, foot prints on the beach and learned how they eat turtles!). The Night Tour we did with Daniel - and again WOW! Daniel brought his high power telescope (not all tours bring these) to allow us to zoom in and seeing the slothes, snakes, possum and other creatures up close (all up in 50 to 60 foot trees), and one recieved a flashlight to look beteen the folige for spiders, grasshoppers the size of one hand, green frogs and much more. Recommend wearing pants, and socks pulled over one's pants as one does go into the jungle - spotted a sleeping toucan and other critters too! The Hilltop Hike - was a nice boat ride, and was jungle humid and WOW - saw all 3 monkeys - Spider, Howler to the White Face and of course a 3-toe sloth. A nice pace walk up the 400 steps to the top to see the view of the canal system, the trees and once again Boa spotting a HUGE Iguana in the distance. Boa's knowledge was amazing ONCE AGAIN and we learned alot about Tortuguero and the surrounding area. Highly recommended - suggest to book directly with him through WHATSAPP. His bookings are in US dollars but one can ask about about in Costa Rica colon (CRC) $. Make sure one's colon CRC is the current waterproof polymer notes. Travel Tortugero - Professional, personable, honest and trustworthy - the best tour guides!!!

Highly recommended

We do the night walk and canoe tour with them and highly recommended. Boa and the boy on the night tour know a lot about the biodiversity of the area and listening to them is really interesting. Affordable prices. We saw quite a few animals like sloths, frogs, alligators, toucans, monkeys, etc. We highly recommend doing it with them.

Nightwalk and canoe tour

We did two tours with traveltortuguero: a night out on land and an electric canoe trip at sunrise. The night outing was led by Daniel and the morning outing by Boa. We liked both outings. Both love nature and know a lot of information that they share with pleasure. The weather was very rainy in the morning, making it more difficult to observe animals, but we were able to observe some. Boa is proficient in several languages, including French and English. He's also learning Dutch. Thank you and good luck!

Memorable experience

The coffee was great, our guide Daniel was excellent and we got very lucky with the weather. He had 15 years of experience at Tortuguero and it showed. He was very passionate and knowledgeable about the wildlife. We saw a wide range of wildlife and the experience was great value for money. Would definitely recommend!

This is an amazing way to...

This is an amazing way to get a good feel of the ecosystem and its biodiversity. Boa is a calm and knowledgeable guide who speaks English and French, and at crucial moments throws in the right Dutch animal name. His boat has a very silent electrical engine. The overgrown mangrove canal is an experience you won’t forget!

Very entertaining and exciting tour

The tour with Boa was very interesting, he knows fantastically well and could tell many exciting stories. He made the tour very entertaining and even exceeded the time frame for us so we had more time watching the animals. He also took us into smaller less busy canals where we could see the animals up close. 10/10 would recommend
