At dawn, we toured the canals of Tortuguero National Park by rowboat and were able to observe numerous animals—monkeys, sloths, herons, toucans, iguanas, basilisks, caimans, and more—in their natural habitat. Our guide answered all our questions and shared fascinating facts about the local flora and fauna, also allowing us to enjoy the sounds of nature waking up and the serenity of this authentic and timeless moment!
It was very interesting and the views were very pretty, the guide (David) explained everything to us very well and was very friendly.
We met at the Tortuguero pier, Luis, our guide, immediately proved to be friendly and helpful. The tour was very nice and is to be recommended!

The BEST tour we have done in Costa Rica!!. You should NOT visit Costa Rica and miss this opportunity - an absolute privilege to be in nature, see the beauty and serenity of the rainforest and dive into canals to see crocodiles, birds, monkeys, crabs, lizards, sloths and more. Thank you to Luis for making this an amazing 2.5 hour experience and your knowledge and professional mamner as we went through. We hope to be back!!
Luis was excellent and very knowledgeable about the local flora and fauna. Canoe was the way to go to avoid scaring off the animals with a motorboat. Beautiful, scenic excursions into multiple small canals in the rainforest. Would highly recommend.
Had a great tour. Really recommended especially with a canoe. You see many animals because the canoe is quiet and our guide knew a lot about the animals and their habitat. I will definitely recommend it to others.
This guy cancelled on me at 9:29pm for a trip booked well in advance for the next morning reservation for 9:00am. After spending many hours on the bus and then a long boat ride to get there the night before he cancelled with no explanation late at night leaving me scrambling until midnight with zero luck of finding someone to take me last minute the next day. There were plenty of people on the journey in offering tours but I declined as I had a trip to honor but instead this outfit wasted a day and much time scrambling having to stay another day. When I asked about the refund for the mandatory park fee that I had purchased in anticipation of the tour just hours before he cancelled he said to contact the park for a refund and they never responded but it wasn't about the park fee at this point it was about wasting a day and scrambling.

Your reservation was formally canceled the evening before the scheduled departure because the minimum number of participants required to operate the tour was not reached. This was processed through the Viator platform, and the cancellation reason was provided through the official system. For that reason, the statement that the tour was canceled “with no explanation” does not accurately reflect what occurred. We also wish to clarify that this was not a case of a guest arriving for a tour and being left without service or notice. The cancellation was communicated in advance through the booking platform before the scheduled start time. Regarding the National Park entrance fee, this admission is purchased directly from the National Park/SINAC system and is not sold or controlled by our company. We provided guidance on the appropriate channel to request any applicable refund from the issuing authority. Additionally, park admissions may often still be usable for entry with another authorized operator. We completely understand that the cancellation disrupted your plans, and for that we are sincerely sorry. Unfortunately, on rare occasions, shared tours cannot operate when minimum participation requirements are not met. While we regret the inconvenience, the circumstances described in your review do not fully reflect how the cancellation was handled. Luis was our guide to visit the canals of Tortuguero, and what a luck! He answered all our questions about the lagoons, but also about the history of the island, its people, and even its very interesting personal history. Born in Tortuguero, it is the perfect guide! We were able to observe several animals and learn more about them (different monkeys, birds, caimans).
