Completed in 1788, the series of chambers were used to house taverns and as storage space for illicit material, including the bodies of people killed by serial killers Burke and Hare for their medical experiments. Journey through over 400 years of history and hear terrifying true tales of hangings, torture, murders and witchcraft. Shiver at the weird noises and unexplained smells that make an appearance after dark!

We had a really fun tour. I’d do this over one of the historical Edinburgh tours any day, because you learn the same stuff. Lafayette was a fantastic tour guide and added to the spooky atmosphere!
Lafayette was awesome! He had your attention from the start to the end. Very energetic and exciting. He was phenomenal. One of my favorite things I did in Edinburgh, and that’s definitely because of how entertaining Lafayette is.

Robbie Diggs was a great tour guide! He did a wonderful job at mixing humor, history, and ghosts! I love that the tour took you underground, through the cemetery, and through part of the city without making you feel like you were walking forever. Would definitely recommend this tour again.
