Your professionally qualified guide James Hart has been conducting tours for more than twenty five years. As a London “Blue Badge” guide he has a great depth knowledge of the site and will provide you with plenty of tales of its celebrated residents and its bloodthirsty history. You will enter the many towers of the medieval palace and see the White Tower where King Henry the Eighth’s armour is displayed. You will walk through rooms which held prisoners, and visit the private execution site. You will see the unique and dazzling Crown Jewels, and other splendid Regalia used in Coronations for centuries. You will see the resident Yeoman Warders (“Beefeaters”) and the famous ravens. Clients taking this tour have an opportunity to upgrade with Afternoon Tea at the Four Seasons Hotel. A luxurious selection of sandwiches, pastries, scones, and teas. A small group provides greater opportunity for asking questions, and to enjoy a more personal experience when compared to larger groups.

This tour was an excellent overall experience. We arrived about 10 minutes early for our Tuesday afternoon tour and James was already there to meet us. He started with a few questions to get an idea of our knowledge and interests, and thoughtfully tailored the conversation and pace of the visit to us. Beyond being thoroughly prepared and pausing to provide deeper discussion when we had questions, he introduced us to a number of members of the guard and staff as we walked, who all seemed to know him personally. Two commented to us that we were fortunate, as James was one of their favored guides. From his depth of knowledge and detailed discussion it appeared that he has studied the history of every article in each room. James was personable, articulate and a pleasure to listen to. The time passed quickly and our afternoon was completely enjoyable. We both will recommend him to friends and family.

Even though it was raining buckets, our tour of The Tower was the highlight of our trip to London. James was an excellent guide. We could have spent the entire day learning more about the history of The Tower and its current workings, as well. My husband and I ended up being the only people in the group that day so we had a private tour for a very reasonable price. I can't recommend this tour with James enough.
