Itinerary
After greeting your guide at Temple Station for 2pm, you'll follow in the footsteps of the Romans, who built the nearly 2000 year old wall still visible today. Wander through this tangle of hidden sights to stumble upon the 12th-century Temple Church, home to the Knights Templar. Fast-forward through history to discover the medieval Tower of London, home to the beefeaters. Learn about the great fire of 1666 that decimated the city at the Monument before marveling at the domed masterpiece, St. Paul’s Cathedral, rebuilt after the tragedy. You’ll see picturesque views along the Thames, the river spanned by the iconic 19th-century Tower Bridge and more modern Millennium Bridge. Your energetic guide will bring London’s long history to life as you weave through the skyscrapers that hide some of its best kept stories.
After meeting your guide at Temple tube station, you will visit Temple Church, the 12th century place of worship for the Knights Templar. As the Knights once had dominion over this part of London, the church was constructed as their English headquarters before the organization’s dissolution in the 14th century.
Next you will see the Tower of London, a historic castle that has played a prominent role in English history since it was founded at the end of 1066 as part of the Norman Conquests of England. Despite the Tower’s reputation as a place of torture and death, within its walls also lies the history of a royal palace and a powerful fortress.
During your tour you will also visit the Monument to the Great Fire of London, a monument built between 1671 and 1677 to commemorate the Great Fire of London and to celebrate the rebuilding of the City.
You will also explore the renowned St Paul’s Cathedral, an Anglican cathedral sitting on Ludgate Hill, the highest point of the City of London. It is one of the most recognisable sights of London whose dome has dominated the skyline for over 300 years.
During your tour you will also stroll along the banks of the River Thames and will be able to enjoy the stunning views of the City of London.
Along the River Thames you will see Tower Bridge, one of London’s most famous bridges built between 1886 and 1894, and the more modern Millennium Bridge, a steel suspension bridge which links Bankside with the City of London.

We had a WONDERFUL tour with Becky L. She was a delight! She made the tour so interesting filled with history and fun tidbits!! We highly recommend her for this tour! Well done!!
We got lucky as we had our guide Stephanie to ourselves. Stephanie is a true wit as she kept us laughing while giving us amazing facts about the old city of London. Stephanie took us to places that other tourists don’t know about. The highlight for us had to be the roman amphitheater located 20 feet below ground. This tour is criminally overlooked.
Tony did a great job walking us through the old city and answering all our questions, I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to learn more about the City of London
We actually had Guy take us to Churchill’s War room. We had several guides during our 3 week holiday. Guy was outstanding bring the history alive ! His vast knowledge and gift of explaining the events in a memorable way was amazing.
We took this tour with Colin and it was fantastic. As it turned out, we were the only people on this tour, but we're sure it would have been great with a larger group as well. Colin brought the city to life with engaging stores and we learned a lot of facinating history. We highly recommend this tour and Colin as a guide.
