We got picked up at hotel downtown Cairo, and met up with our guide, Ali Salama. Ali is very versed in Egyptian history, and gave us a true field trip experience. He was also very warm, patient and answered all our questions. He is passionate about his history. We visited the museum at the end of a two week trip, and it made for a wonderful summary of our time spent in Egypt. I highly recommend this visit.
I would like to express our disappointment regarding the guide and the program provided during our visit to the Grand Egyptian Museum. The guide’s command of the language was not good, which made it difficult to understand the explanations and follow the stories and information being presented. In addition, we felt that there was a lack of proper introduction and historical context about what we were going to see. Our main complaint is related to the visit to Tutankhamun’s treasures. The explanation provided was very limited and superficial. In fact, after a very brief introduction, the guide left us alone to walk through the exhibition halls. It was at that moment that we realized the enormous number of important pieces and artifacts displayed that had not been explained or contextualized, despite this being one of the museum’s most significant collections. When we expressed that we expected more information and explanations about the exhibited pieces, the guide replied that “there was not much more to explain” and asked us to tell her specifically what additional information we wanted. We do not believe it was our responsibility to direct the visit or know what questions to ask, especially since we hired a guide precisely to provide historical context and explanations about the most important pieces in the collection. Overall, we feel that the experience was below expectations and that the visit could have been much more enriching, organized, and professional.
Good morning sir , Edgar , This is the operator team , We are apologize about this disappointment , we investigate your concern about the tour guide , we already did , she said that she explain the main hall and the main gallery as well , the museum it’s including around 100 thousands artifacts, she said that she gave you a free time to explore the tut ankh Amun treasures by yourself , then she met you again to visit the king khofo boat or the solar boat , the tour guide she stay with you from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm She is speaking Spanish tour guide Also she said that , you said your Spanish not good like before you asked her to be slowly speaking But in the end we apologize about this We will take the action which make you satisfy , thank you

I had an incredible time at the Grand Egyptian Museum on this tour! My tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and I wouldn't have gotten near as much out of the experience without him. My tour guide had so much wisdom to share, was a complete gentleman, was kind and funny, and was able to answer any questions I had. As a solo female traveler I felt completely safe with my guide as well. The museum is amazing and has so much to see I will definitely be coming back in the future and I will select this tour again.

We had an excellent experience with Ali. We visited Gizeh and the GEM the same day and also visited other parts of Cairo (old city, Saqqarah..) other days. Ali is very well organised and made sure we had time to see the main highlights each day. He is very knowledgeable and adapts his commentary to the interests of the visitors. Also he provides a real experience of life in Cairo and can take you to a nice restaurant or bakery shop if you wish to or explains daily life in Cairo. A very friendly and enjoyable experience.
