The Tour is a must do if you got to Messina. The provider Discover Messina is the best choice. If you are lucky and have as tour guide Katia and driver Renzo, you have won the power ball. I remember reading The Godfather book when it came out. I was a teen and could not put it down. Every Thanksgiving weekend there was the Godfather movie marathon. I’m a huge fan. I anticipated this excursion more than any other out of my 14 day cruise. It did not disappoint. Our guide Elisa was personable and knowledgeable about all sorts of the movie trivia. I kind of dragged my husband along. He was equally impressed. The time spent in Taormina was also eye opening. Don’t miss the Greek Theatre.
We took the Godfather tour on 6/9. Carmelo and the driver picked us up and dropped us off at the cruise ship terminal. This is very convenient since some of the other excursions we took required taxi rides to and from. This was probably one of the best tours I have ever taken. Carmelo was extremely knowledgeable and engaging, answering just about every question we had. We learned about Sicilian culture and history along the ride and had a wonderful experience. I would highly recommend this tour.

Great tours and plenty of time to see and do lots of things. Katie was excellent tour guide and very entertaining and had plenty of water and snack stops. She knew the people very well and personally. But the road up very narrow. So if you don’t like heights and then narrow roads you might skip. But overall excellent value for the money!
We had a great day visiting the area where The Godfather was filmed. It was such a pretty, hilly village with 2 churches. Taormina is the perfect place if you want to shop, eat, take pictures or people watch.
This experience, led by Katia exceeded our expectations. Sicily was breathtaking and Katia’s knowledge of it was impressive. We loved Savoca, the tiny town where parts of the Godfather were shot. If you’re a fan, you’ll really appreciate it. Taormina was stunning as well and getting views of Mount Etna was icing on the cake. The whole day was perfect. We did this as a port stop on Brilliance of the Seas and the process was super easy. We were picked up and dropped off right at the ship. Highly recommend! Worth every penny.
