Taormina and Castelmola Tour from Messina

Description
Discover the villages of Taormina and Castelmola and their unique and impressive views with us. Castelmola Sicily is one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, at 550 meters above sea level. We will wind up in its panoramic square, where we will be surprised by the view, on one side, of Mount Etna- the highest active volcano in Europe. We stop also at local cafès to taste the typical sweet almond wine. Our day tour continues with a Taormina tour, to visit the most popular tourist destination of Sicily, which was recently made if possible even more famous by the second season of White Lotus Sicily. During the Taormina tour in Corso Umberto, you will be fascinated by an explosion of colors, sounds, and flavors typical of Sicily. Don’t miss churches, ancient buildings, and exclusive boutiques, as well as great views to take fantastic photos! The Taormina and Castelmola tour will be an unforgettable and multi-sensory experience.

Itinerary
This will be one of our two destinations of our tour.
Corso Umberto is the main street of Taormina
Piazza Duomo is situated in the historical centre of Taormina and is the meeting point from where the visit of Corso Umberto I, the main street, starts.
The fountain is built in Baroque style and takes its name "4 fountains" from the four small columns that are located at the four corners of the central body and which are surmounted by four seahorses from whose mouth came the water that ended in the trays below.
Palazzo Ciampoli was a stately residence in Catalan style.
The Cathedral Fortress, as the Cathedral of Taormina was defined, was built around 1400 on the ruins of a small church from the Middle Ages and dedicated to San Nicola di Bari.
Together with the third wall, whose remains are still visible on the right side up to the castle, it delimited the part of the city defined as 'fifteenth-century village'.
Piazza IX Aprile is Taormina's most elegant "living room". Characteristic are the outdoor bars and artists who paint portraits and landscapes.
This church is situated close to the Torre dell'orologio, overlooking the IX April square.
The church rises on the ruins of Odeon, built also on the ruins of a Greek theatre dedicated to Aphrodite

Tour guide was excellent . The negative was that there was a change in time which made the schedule challenging because the tour ended close to the sail time of our cruise ship. The staff worked with us to ensure that we arrived at the ship on time ,
This was a wonderful experience to see both Castlemora and Taormina! Our guide was very knowledgeable and professional and we enjoyed the time to explore both places!
The villages were lovely to walk around. The sea is beautiful. Plenty of free time to explore on your own or grab a drink and food. The guide was lovely. Only problem was she spoke do very fast (even in English) we could not keep up
Mariarita was the best!!! Gave a great tour an definitely follow her recommendations they were awesome.
It was a nicely organized excursion. Tour guide Serena was very accommodating and shared all important information with us. Everything was on time. The views in both places are spectacular- definitely recommend it!
tour was very well organized well-marked and good signage. The easiest of the tours we've taken. excellent driver on the small narrow winding roads. tour guide serena was knowledgeable and helpful
What a great tour of Castlemola and Taormina! Marierita met me at the cruise terminal and wound us up to the top of the mountain to visit little town on top of a big rock. She explained the sites in as much detail as I wanted and patiently let me walk around a bit on my own (and climb up to the old castle remains). We then went down the mountain to Taormina and walked through the town, again describing the historical sites. Because I had a guide, we got to skip the line to see the theater. We were both aghast that the Film Festival had erected a huge movie screen which covered up the stage and view from the theater. She is a wonderful hostess!
Very informative tour guide Magda! Highly recommend her for her knowledge of the history & art! Bravo
This was a great tour! Our tour guide Gabby was excellent. She was professional and punctual. She also communicated well before the tour, so we knew exactly what time and location we would meet. She was willing to take our photos anytime The time was broken up between the 2 towns well. It was a beautiful time experiencing 2 absolutely breathtaking cities. I would definitely recythis tour!
Mariarita & driver were excellent. Thoroughly enjoyed the tour and spare time in both places. Just the right amount of information about the areas and own time to explore. The roads up were hairpin but skilfully driven & felt safe at all times. Modern, great condition small bus with good aircon. Made sure we were back to port in plenty of time & excellent communication from the company beforehand. Highly recommend
