Description
No one can resist the mythical Loch Ness: its beauty evokes a sense of wonder, while its monstrous depths are legendary. On this 8-hour small-group tour, you explore all of it in the comfort of a luxury, 16 seat mini-coach. You can enjoy incredible views, learn about the historic ruins of Urquhart Castle, and explore the less frequented south roads of the loch. Even if the monster doesn't show up, you can be assured that your experienced driver-guide will bring this loch to life with beastly tales and history.

Itinerary
You leave Inverness and follow the Caledonian Canal to the source of the River Ness. Your guide takes you down the road less travelled to Dores, on the eastern side of the loch. This tiny village boasts a beach with the most striking vista of Loch Ness and the Great Glen rift valley. Get your camera ready for your first photos of the mysterious waters and potential monster sightings before you continue your journey.
Take a walk downhill through native pine trees to see the hidden-away Falls of Foyers
Here you can have your lunch and take a picture of the boats coming in through the Caledonian Canal. *Until 31 March 2026, lunch stops will be in Drumnadrochit.
Go for a wonderful wander through lush forests and cascading waterfalls.
Whether you believe the legends or not, keep your eyes peeled for the monster or breath-taking vistas as we continue along the banks of Loch Ness. We know Loch Ness is all about Nessie, but the banks of the loch are home to another star; Urquhart Castle. This time-worn stronghold has witnessed some of the most dramatic chapters in Scottish history. Walk the grounds of the castle and listen to the echoes of battles reverberating in the ancient walls. And then enjoy getting closer to the mystery on an hour-long cruise of the loch.

Our tour guide Neil was great. He took us to a few out of the way spots around Loch Ness like Dores and a couple really old bridges. Then we had lunch in fort Agustus and walked around the locks (locks, not Lochs). We went up the other side of Loch Ness to Urquart Castle to see that, then get on a cruise to go the rest of the way. Definitely a must do when you're in Inverness.
Wonderful day! Old Cameron, the guide, was very kind, attentive, and provided us with a lot of information.

The tour is just what it says, a sampling of all the attractions around Lochness. The cruise to finish the tour was a nice touch.
A great tour with our guide Kev! Being from the area he was extremely knowledgeable and was able to give a personalized perspective on all of our stops. His warmth, friendliness and sense of humor added to the experience. We were traveling with our family which included some elderly parents and he was able to pace it out perfectly while still giving an amazing experience to those of us who were younger. We would highly recommend this tour.
It's a shame it rained almost all day, but Charlie kept us entertained with his stories on Scotland and Highlands and with his jokes! We had a very good day!
It's a great day out, very well organised. Charlie is a fantastic guide and driver. Would highly recommend.
Excellent tour of a beautiful area of the Highlands. Our guide, Charlie, did an excellent job sharing stories of the area and taking us to all the key sights. The small size of the tour made the logistics so much easier getting everyone to and from the stops. The boat ride o the Lich Ness was a perfect way to end the day.
A very nice day trip around Loch Ness! We are on a longer trip around Scotland and decided to take this day trip to see the castle and take the boat ride on Loch Ness. The lunch stop at Fort Augustus to see the canal was really nice. Charlie did a nice job leading our tour with a mix of humor, story and history. Bonus was the picture perfect weather day!
Had a great time. Stress free, fun and interesting. Our guide, Camille, had lots of fun stories and was very knowledgeable about the area. She helped make the trip exceptional.
