The Castle Side Food Tour: Hidden Flavors & Scenic Views

Description
Explore the authentic flavors of Prague’s historic west side with a small-group food tour near Prague Castle. Unlike most tours, this experience takes you through Hradčany (The Castle District) and Malá Strana (The Little Quarter) — charming neighborhoods filled with small, locally-owned spots that have held their ground despite the tourist boom. Led by a passionate local guide, this tour offers more than just tastings. As you walk downhill through cobbled lanes and courtyards, you’ll hear stories of the businesses you visit — and learn how Czech cuisine developed through centuries of rural tradition, Austro-Hungarian influence, and local creativity. Taste a variety of Czech favorites: beer snacks and appetizers, local street food, sweet treats from a student-favorite café, countryside-style dishes. Vegetarian options are available. Enjoy culture, flavor, and views — all in one authentic Prague experience.

Itinerary
We meet and start in the Lesser Town district - one of Prague’s most historic neighbourhoods. After the welcome surprise, we take a short tram ride to get up hill around the castle.
Enter the Catholic monastery founded in 1140 and stop here in the local brewery for a good sample of the regional appetizers. We also love the local beer.
We enjoy the beautiful Bellavista panorama and walk through the Castle District.
Taste Czech classics right outside the Prague Castle (or we have an alternative stop in case this one gets closed for private events), while the guide tells you all about the traditional Czech cuisine.
Next we walk down the "Royal Path" and grab bits of Czech street food in a locals’ popular restaurant.
Walk through the "Little Quarter" district to the Kampa Island area, to taste local sweets with another drink.

We did the castle side food tour, and while we did have some traditional Czech foods, there was a lot of interesting ones as well. But, what really made the tour was our guide, Vito. He was very personable and the conversation made the difference. Definitely recommend !
Our leader couldn’t have been more personable, entertaining and educating. The food was delicious and varied. Highly recommend!!!
Sabastian was excellent. We tried many delicious items and Sebastian was happy to answer questions we had about the food and area. We were also taken to a beautiful lookout for pictures.
This tour perfectly showed and was explained so well by our guide, Jakub, to my American husband why I love my country so much! Jakub took us to hidden gems that ordinary tourists don’t see. The small group was nice and the pub and restaurant we stopped at were excellent!
Sebastian was an inspiring and incredibly friendly guide throughout the food tour. His enthusiasm and knowledge made the experience both educational and enjoyable. We learned a lot, had a great time, and would highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for a memorable food tour.
Great food tour with a knowledgeable guide. Sebastian was outgoing and fun to be around and made sure we had plenty to eat. This tour also includes a few beers which was great.
We had an incredible experience on this Prague food tour! Even though this wasn’t our first time visiting the city, our guide David made it feel completely fresh and new. His knowledge was outstanding and it wasn’t just about the food, but also the history, culture, and hidden corners of Prague that we would have never discovered on our own. As a family of four, we really appreciated how engaging and well-paced the tour was. David kept everyone interested, and we learned so many new things while enjoying some amazing local dishes. The stops were unique, not the typical tourist spots, which made the whole experience feel much more authentic. Highly recommend this tour to both first-time visitors and those who think they’ve already seen Prague. There’s always more to discover!
It’s great as it goes up to the monastery, you have a lovely view and it’s much calmer than the bustling old town. We loved the different sorts of food and the size of the portions, only little food waste bit enough for everyone. Vitek is very knowledgeable and passionate about history, and knows great gems.
Knowledgeable staff and great food. Sebastian made the tour worth it and gave a good reason to visit again.
It is a must! Great evening, great food and it felt like we were with old friends! This will make your Prague tip complete!!
