Bartle was our guide for this “3 hour” walking tour that turned into 6! He met us at our hotel (Wilder) and led us on an incredibly unique and engaging tour throughout Dublin. He must have cued in immediately that we were interested in avoiding high volume locations with tons of tourists…and also that we like to experience cities with their alcohol. He led us on a private tour for the Book of Kells where he had other patrons asking him questions as he was so knowledgeable. He know precisely which things were worth taking pictures of to save time for the more interesting/hidden gems of the tour. It seemed like everyone we passed knew Bartle on sight and helped accommodate our needs immediately. We had a crack at several pubs, including with the owner of Sweny’s Chemist, a lovely James Joyce stop. We sang Irish songs and my wife even played guitar a bit there! An amazing experience and hard to imagine a better tour/tour guide. I would recommend this very very highly for anyone who likes to drink and chat and walk!
