On your private half-day tour, you will start by exploring the three temples from the Acropolis complex, the Parthenon, the Erechtheum and the temple dedicated to Athena Parthenos (Athena the Virgin). Today, the Acropolis (meaning ''hill city'') is Athens’ crowning glory: a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the world’s most important cultural monuments as the celebrated birthplace of democracy. You will also wander through the city’s historic centre, Plaka, where your guide will give you recommendations for finding the best real local fare and artisanal shops for you to return to during your trip. After exploring Plaka, you will visit the Greek Agora, where you can see the Temple of Hephaestus, believed to be the best-preserved ancient Greek temple in the world. Your tour will end in the agora, where you can continue to explore at your own leisure.

We were originally supposed to have a guide named Christina but were met by a different man as a last minute substitute. He was kind but we found the pace of the tour too slow. This was partially a language issue (he seemed to struggle with English) and also his knowledge of dates and facts seemed incomplete. I found it easier to read and understand the signs than in listening to him.
Our guide was so knowledgeable and willing to answer all of our questions! He allowed us to spend extra time at areas we were more interested in and less on others, while still providing complete information!
Our guide Onoufrios Dovletis was well versed in Greek mythology and history. Knew all places for great pics and made our experience the best tour out of all tours we took in various locations in Europe. Thanks for the movie tip Onoufrios. We won't forget our day ever!!
