Itinerary
Start your journey with a warm, freshly baked Bretzel, featuring a perfectly golden-brown, crisp exterior and a soft, chewy interior. This comforting first bite sets the tone for the experience, offering a simple yet irresistible taste that locals and visitors alike love.
Viennese sausage stands were officially added to UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage list in 2024, recognizing their unique role in the city’s culinary and social culture. Open late, loved by locals, and woven into everyday life, these iconic stands are more than just a place to grab a bite, they’re a true Viennese institution. Tasting a classic sausage here is therefore a must-try experience on any trip to Vienna, offering an authentic flavor of the city’s traditions and daily rhythms.
Enjoy the cozy atmosphere of a traditional Austrian tavern while tasting two of its most iconic dishes. Savor the perfectly breaded Wiener Schnitzel, golden and crisp, alongside a hearty bowl of Goulash, a spicy Eastern European soup rich in flavor and tradition. Together, these classics offer a comforting and authentic taste of Austria’s culinary heritage.
We will end our tour on a sweet note with one of the most famous dishes of the rich Austrian dessert tradition: Kaiserschmarrn. This dessert looks like a “scrambled” light pancake, and it has a noble history! For the dinner tour, the Kaiserchmarrn may not always be available, but in that case you will have ample choice between all the delicious typical cakes.

Wonderful experience and great way to get to know the food and culture and history of Vienna . Mario was wonderful. Friendly and knowledgeable.
Mario was an excellent guide! He shared lots of great history throughout the tour and took us to 4 yummy food stops. The tour was full of traditional Austrian foods.
We had a great time on our food tour! Our guide Lauren was very knowledgeable and fun! We learned a lot about the city and food. We loved experiencing some true Austrian cuisine. Lauren also went above and beyond giving us recommendations and tips for the remainder of our trip!
Lauren was great! The food and the history were amazing. A perfect sampling of Vienna. My favorite activity:)
We tasted Vienna until our bellies were so full on this tour. Ana did an incredible job explaining the importance of the foods and how they influenced Vienna’s culture. You get to try pretzels, sausages, a full meal with schnitzel AND goulash. The goulash meat tasted like very tender brisket. Delicious! To finish the tour, a variety of desserts were offered and all were wonderful. Definitely choose this particular company when booking a food tour in Vienna. You won’t be disappointed!
Had a great and very informative trip with our guide Mario. Mario knew lots about the city and food and was a great guide all around. He also gave us great recommendations for the rest of our trip and answered our question via email later on Highly recommend 😊
Good food and informative tour. We enjoyed the historical and gastronomy. Nice tour, even on a very hot day.
Mario was a delightful guide and the food was delicious.
Mario was a great guide on our Vienna food tour. He provided a lot of historical information on the city of Vienna and the Hapsburg empire and wove into it how all the Viennese classic foods fit into the culture. We did this tour on our third day in the city but still saw so many different parts we hadn’t seen yet.
Lots of walking between meals, which we loved as Viennese food is heavy. Our guide shared many interesting tidbits (besides food) and was friendly and quite charming. The only downside was that the first course, a pretzel, was very stale and those of us on the tour were too polite to say anything. She doesn’t eat the food herself so didn’t realize. We loved the tour and it was a highlight to interact with a local who answered many of our questions about life in Vienna.l and created a communal feeling with other guests.
