The Taronga zoo is fantastic. Lots of animals from all over the world and the layout and setup for the animals is very nice the zoo is nestled in amongst lots of trees and the view of the Sydney harbour and opera house from there is amazing. Fantasea was on time and gave us a smooth ride over and back and the ship was clean and had lots of seating options.
The ferry ride was easy to get to. The zoo was awesome. We spent about 3.5 hours there. Had a good time and got our steps in!
You can take the ferry from Darling harbour (~0.5hr to zoo) or circular quay (~15mins to zoo). during the trip, you can see the opera house and the bridge. I really enjoy the ferry. The zoo is not very big and located on a hill. But there are escalators / slopes so it makes us less tiring. there are a wide variety of animals but the numbers of each animal are small. It is good if you only stay in Australia for a short period of time and don’t have time to visit other zoos. And most importantly, you can admire the nice harbour view on the ferry and at the zoo.
We had a great time at the zoo! We arrived on the first ferry across the harbor to the zoo. The zoo was not crowded, the animals were incredible! The animal enclosures were very well kept and were like the habitat would be in the wild. We were surprised by the number of birds we had never seen before. The Australian wildlife was great, the dingoes were so cute, asleep. The employees were friendly and helpful. Many monkeys, gorillas, African wildlife. We stayed until the last ferry left. What an incredible day!
Such an easy experience. Ticket collection point was described well and sign posted. Ferries ran to schedule and zoo was wonderful.
We took Fantasea ferry from Darling Harbor to the Taronga Zoo and back. The ferry was punctual and fun. It's a great way to see the sights including the Sydney Harbor Bridge, the Rocks, skylines and the Opera House. The trip is relatively quick and a value added way to get to and from the zoo.
Price on checkout didn’t match what came out of my account. Overcharged and the ferry didn’t turn up for return trip. In 40 degree heat with a child with a foot injury. Not happy at all.
This is a sham, the website advertised several stops in the itinerary, when we went to redeem the tickets, we found out that Fantasia no longer operate any other stops than the zoo. Had I known that I would have booked with other companies. Misleading advertisement!!! don't book with them unless all you want to do is the zoo
We had a lovely time. Staff were very helpful at all locations. Food and beverage were reasonably priced. It was rather hit and the animals were taking it easy.
The zoo is beautiful and super recommended if you go to Sydney you should go here. You'll love it and so will the kids
