Itinerary
This forest is known by several names: Rmilat Forest or Forest Perdicaris, the latter referring to the famous Perdicaris incident of May 18, 1904, when the wealthy American Ion Perdicaris was kidnapped by Mulai Ahmed Raisuli. Stroll through shaded paths and lush greenery, enjoy the peaceful park with diverse trees, and take in the fresh air. From several viewpoints in the park, you can admire panoramic views of the Strait of Gibraltar, the Mediterranean Sea, and the coast of Spain — a perfect spot for photos and appreciating Tangier’s natural beauty.
Meet gentle camels and take a short ride along the golden sands of Achakkar Beach, with the Atlantic Ocean stretching out beside you. Feel the sea breeze, enjoy the peaceful coastal views, and capture fantastic photos to remember your Moroccan adventure.
Standing at the northwestern tip of Africa, the Cape Spartel Lighthouse, built in 1864, marks a historic landmark overlooking the meeting point of the Mediterranean Sea and Atlantic Ocean. From here, enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the Strait of Gibraltar, the Spanish coast, and Tangier’s stunning coastline — a perfect spot for photos.
Explore this fascinating attraction, located next to the summer palace of the King of Morocco. The cave has two entrances, one to the sea and one to land. The sea entrance, known as “The Map of Africa”, is said to have been created by the Phoenicians and resembles the shape of the African continent when viewed from the sea. A perfect spot for photos and experiencing Tangier’s natural and historical wonders.
Visit the Kasbah, a complex of historic palaces and fortifications perched atop a hill overlooking Tangier. Built by Sultan Moulay Ismail in the 17th century, the Kasbah includes beautiful gardens that were part of his palace, Dar el Makhzen. Wander the historic courtyards, admire the architecture, and enjoy panoramic views of the city and harbor — a perfect spot for photos and soaking in Tangier’s rich history.
Located within the historic Kasbah, the Kasbah Museum was once part of the palace of Sultan Moulay Ismail. It showcases Mediterranean culture, Moroccan art, and historical artifacts, offering insight into Tangier’s rich heritage. Visiting the museum is optional and can be included for travelers who wish to explore more of the city’s history.
Explore the narrow, winding streets of Tangier’s historic Medina, where vibrant markets, local shops, and Moroccan craftsmanship bring the city to life. Petite Socco – once one of Morocco’s most famous squares, historically home to writers, diplomats, and merchants. Cafés, hotels, and the lively atmosphere showcase the city’s rich heritage. Spend time shopping in colorful markets, browse unique souvenirs, and discover traditional crafts while immersing yourself in authentic Moroccan life. Along the way, enjoy optional Moroccan snacks, mint tea, or a traditional lunch at local cafés, soaking in the flavors and energy of the city.
Visit Place du 9 Avril 1947, named after the historic speech of King Mohammed V, in which he appealed for Morocco’s independence. This square is a symbolic landmark in Tangier, surrounded by local life, cafés, and historic architecture — a perfect spot to soak up the city’s culture and history.
Visit the Tangier American Legation Museum, the first American public property outside the United States. It commemorates the historic cultural and diplomatic relations between the United States and the Kingdom of Morocco. Visiting the museum is optional and offers travelers a deeper understanding of Tangier’s international history and heritage.
Visit the Moshe Nahon Synagogue, constructed by Moise Nahon, chief of an important family of bankers. This historic synagogue reflects the cultural and religious heritage of Tangier’s Jewish community. If you wish, you can also explore other historic synagogues in the city, making this stop a flexible way to learn about Tangier’s diverse religious and cultural history. Visiting is optional.

My wife and I visited Morocco for the first time, and Karim was our guide for 2 days. He educated us on the culture and guided us through Tangier, then took us to visit some of the surrounding areas including a great camel ride along the beach. We would highly recommend reaching out to Kamir if you are visiting Tangier.

The day included a city tour, a camel ride, a great local lunch, and a walking tour through the medina. Karim explained a lot about Moroccan culture and history, which made the experience even more interesting. Everything was well organized but still relaxed. If you’re visiting Tangier, ask for Karim. Seriously. He welcomed us right at the port (a huge advantage since Patito Tours has permission to meet guests directly on the pier), and from that moment everything was smooth and easy. Karim is knowledgeable, funny, and incredibly proud of his city. He explained the culture, the history, and even the everyday life of Tangier in a way that made the city feel very real to us. Everywhere we went people greeted him like an old friend, which is how he earned his nickname from us “the Mayor of Tangier.” A big thank you also to Abdullah, our driver, whose calm and professional driving kept the day comfortable and relaxed. This tour gave us a wonderful first impression of Morocco and we would recommend it without hesitation.

Karim was our guide and he truly made our visit to Tangier unforgettable! He is an absolute gem. He shared so much local knowledge and insight that you would never get without a guide who truly knows and loves his city. From the moment we were picked up in a spotless van until we were dropped back at the port, everything ran perfectly smoothly. Patito Tours even has authorization from the port authority to meet guests right on the pier, which made the whole process effortless. Karim speaks excellent English and everywhere we went people greeted him warmly — it honestly felt like everyone knew him! By the end of the day we were jokingly calling him the “Mayor of Tangier.” We would also like to thank Abdullah, our driver, whose calm and professional driving made the day even more comfortable. Morocco is such a welcoming country and this tour was truly excellent. We highly recommend it!

My day with Karim was everything I hoped for and more. From the very beginning, his professionalism and warmth set the tone for an unforgettable experience. The tour beautifully combined history, culture, scenery, food, and authentic local encounters. We explored iconic sites like the Caves of Hercules and stood at Cap Spartel, where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Mediterranean Sea — a breathtaking moment. Riding a camel along Achakkar Beach with the ocean as a backdrop was a highlight I’ll never forget. The walking tour through the Kasbah of Tangier and the Medina of Tangier brought the city’s rich history to life. As a local, Karim shared stories that gave real depth and meaning to the streets around us. We stopped for traditional Moroccan food, sipped mint tea, and visited trusted artisans where I found beautiful handcrafted items and authentic Berber rugs. Shopping felt relaxed and enjoyable — never pressured. Karim blends history, culture, cuisine, and fun into one seamless day. By the end, I felt like I had truly experienced Tangier, not just visited it.
