A perfect day in Tangier

Bilal Tribak was a spectacular host for the three of us. Despite having a very rainy day, he was able to show us all of the highlights that we wanted to see. Our tour was a three part experience . Part one was seeing the highlights and learning the history of Tangier including a camel ride by the ocean. Part two, our absolute favorite part, was a cooking class in his home. This was so unique and his family was very welcoming to us. We collectively made a traditional couscous and chicken tangine dinner supervised by his wife. We finished by making the classic Moroccan mint tea. Part three was visiting craftsman in the Medina. We enjoyed the shopping experience and left our hearts and money in Tangier. Bilal is not only fluent in Arabic, French, Spanish and English, he speaks the universal language of hospitality. He’s also a wealth of knowledge on the history of Tangier and Morocco. For the best experience you could ever have, hands down Bilal is the guy!

Safe, insightful tour with lovely cooking experience

Efficient pick up at port with first class transport. Our Tour provided great historical background to Tangier. Cooking class was basic, the results were excellent and the we learnt a number of things that we will try back home. Third part of the tour was around the souk and old town which was interesting. If you want to see anything specific or spend more time doing something then just let Bilal know.

Take the good with the bad

The guide was late for pick up, and we went to look for him. When we finally found him he said he was there the whole time, which he was not. This did not set a good tone as we started our day together. The sightseeing was fine and he was well informed and helpful. The tour included a camel ride, but when we got there he said we had to pay 20Euro extra for the "good" ride. The best part was the cooking experience at his home and with his family. His wife and children were lovely and very welcoming in their home. The meal we made together was delicious and enjoyable. Afterward he led us on a tour through the city market, and took us specifically to places were they were waiting to sell us rugs and other things. This felt very "set up" and not what we wanted - and did not get to spend the time shopping through the market on our own as we would have preferred.

Hi Al, First of all I spent more than 45 minutes waiting for you at the door of the cruise ship,I was there holding a sign having your name on it.you came out the ship and you started to walk outside the terminal.Ive texted you the day before saying that I will.be at the front of the ship amd don't go outside the terminal, which you didn't care about what I've told you and you went out the terminal and I had to Waite for you too long.and I've called you several times and your phone was off all the time.that you told me you were afraid to be charged by your Sim card company if you answer to my call.... I've emailed you several times through viator and there's proof of this...you didn't even answered.even all of this I was there waiting for you till you decided to get back to the cruise Terminal and then you founded me.(I could just leave after 10 or 15 min when you didn't showed up at the time of the reservation, but I didn't and I was there waiting ) Comserming the Camel ride it's included the small Camel ride and it's mentioned in the tour program.you didn't want to have the small tour and you preferred to have the Camel ride by the beach and longer, which you had to pay the extra fee which was 10€ each.and you agreed with it. Which you didn't paid for it neither....I had to text you the next day to ask you to pay for what I have paid for you....which is I never had this kind of experience with no one of my guests. And it's very clear in the what's included in the tour that the small the Camel ride is included but not the big one by the beach. Conserning to the candcraft store,it's a part of the visite in the Medina and I've asked you of you'd like to visite it and you said yes you were interested in seeing it.we went there just for an idea and you asked for a mint the which it was their hospitality and you went out without any problem and you didn't booked anything from there to say that you wasn't happy with or something....so I don't understand that you're claiming on something that you've asked to see..... I have introduced you into my house and into my family and this is how you thank me ????

More than a meal - connecting with the history, Medina, and home life of Tangier

Bilal was such an excellent tour guide! We had a great time exploring a new part of the Medina and learning about its history from B.C.E. to modern day pop culture. We were welcomed into his beautiful home along with his wife and two daughters, where we had so much fun learning about different cooking techniques. Going above and beyond, we got to prepare both tagine and couscous, in addition to bread, dates, olives, salad, tea, fruit, and more. I cannot stress enough how mind blowingly delicious the meal was - the flavors were incredible, better than restaurants, and it was so rewarding to help make it! We left very full, and very satisfied. SHUKRAN to Bilal and family for being such generous and knowledgeable hosts!

One of the best experiences ever

We had a fantastic experience and really enjoyed cooking session with Bilal and his wife. They welcomed us in their house and made us feel like part of family. Cooking session was great and food was very delicious. All ingredients were fresh and good quality. I can’t wait to cook the dish for my family when i get back home. Bilal has lots of knowledge about Tangier and history of Morocco and has lovely family. It was one of the best experiences and i would recommend this to anyone who likes to cook or wants to learn about the culture of Tangier. Thank you for the amazing day.

The best cooking class in Tangier

Bilal met us outside the kasbah, took us to the medina to buy the ingredients for our chicken tagine, mint tea, and salad, then back to his place for a cooking class with his wonderful wife, Sana. Unfortunately, today is the last day of Ramadan so they couldn’t join us for the feast but the results were delicious (even though we felt incredibly guilty eating without the rest of the family). We can't recommend this experience highly enough. Bilal is such a lovely warm human being and a generous and knowledgeable guide. Sana is an amazing, gracious woman and a wonderful teacher. I have never eaten so much. Thank you, Bilal and Sana.

Great hosts and delicious food

This experience was fantastic! Bilal and Sana were amazing hosts, and it was such an authentic experience cooking in their house. They were so fun, and the food was incredibly delicious. It was great to learn about the Medina and the pharmacy on our walk to his house from the port, and he even showed us a beautiful spot to watch the sunset after the cooking class. Recommend to anyone looking for a great experience in Tangier.
