Tales of Fayoum: Private 2 days and 1 Night Full Experience

I love camping and I camp usually in front of a sea (Ras Muhammad usually). This was our first desert camping experience in Fayoum and we absolutely loved it. Guys were very accommodating, friendly, and professional at the same time. The itinerary is very entertaining yet relaxing, especially the part where we had to sleep in the desert campsite. Recommend for desert and camping lovers.

I recently found trails and tales while looking for someone to organize a tailored photography trip to fayoum. Ever since i contacted them and i was 100% sure they knew what they were talking about. Every detail mattered! They took their time to understand my needs perfectly and worked accordingly! They encouraged questions and gave me recommendations to all the spots that would be perfect to take pictures at. I asked for our own campsite in the middle of the dunes and they setup the perfect campsite and made the most gorgeous campfire and food! They guys running the company are very well traveled and we shared stories all night long it was amazing. Definitely recommended!

I hardly ever write a review but about 20 years ago I used to be a professional tour leader in Sinai/ Marsa Alam , long story short I did it for years and was very good at it , now when I went back to Egypt said to myself let me try one of the newer companies which was this one that one of my old friends suggested , the level of service and professionalism of the guides and tour operator were astonishing , as a tourist in any country , your vacation time is limited and the only thing you keep with you after you leave and go back to reality is some memories and a few souvenirs, if you really wanna make the best use f your vacation time I suggest you give those guys a try .

I did a trip in the Fayoum desert with these guys. It was absolutely amazing. We visited Wadi Hitan National museum of petrified whales. We also spent a night under the beautiful derert stars in Badwin tents. It was an unforgettable and absolutely amazing experiance. The guys are fun and well organized.

Our decision to go to Fayoum was on a whim, we had both been to Fayoum before, but the experience for me back then was so traditional and programmatic, it felt "too guided" if that makes sense. When I talked to these guys and they said that their program was more on the spontaneous side, they suggested a bunch of activities, and we picked and chose what we liked and they made it work somehow. They knew the top locations and activities, and we felt like we've seen all we wanted to see. Be it the offroading experience, the lodge we stayed at, or the tasty food. On the last day, we dined at a gourmet hotel diner that featured a beautiful hand-made pottery shop, and the whole experience was just quite pleasant. The only hiccup was when the guide missed an exit on one of the trips back and got stuck in heavy mud. We panicked obviously in the beginning even though the paved road was literally 5m to our right. The guide calmed us down and made a few calls, and some other car came eventually came and winched us out of the muddy part. The whole thing took a bit over 30 minutes, and it was at night, and the weather was alright. The pickup and dropoff were in a lively location in Cairo also, and to us, that was the cherry on top, we just hopped back in the car and were home in no time.

Located less than two hours south west of Cairo, Fayoum Oasis is undoubtedly one of the country’s hidden treasures. We had an absolutely epic yet peaceful time on our 2-day adventurous trip to Fayoum with Trails and Tales full of happy memories! Our guides took us on a wild ride that went way beyond the basic tourist traps. You'd definitely see all the fundamental stuff, but also you'd get the chance to see some incredible hidden gems and untapped places, and we were able to take our time to soak up every little detail of the experience. One of the highlights of our trip was the dune bashing. They drove us in a 4x4 car through the desert dunes, and it was an adrenaline rush like no other. We felt like we were in a movie! We spent the night camping in the desert under the stars, and it was an amazing experience to be away from all the noise and light pollution. Our guides were also amazing cooks. They prepared a delicious barbecue for us, and we even got to try some traditional Bedouin food. They were also incredibly knowledgeable about the area and took the time to teach us about the history and culture of Fayoum. We felt like we were traveling with like minded friends, not just clients. Our guides were so friendly and welcoming, and they made us feel right at home. We felt safe at all times, and we knew that we could always count on them. Overall, we had an amazing time on our trip to Fayoum with Trails and Tales. We would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for an unforgettable adventure. They are the real deal!
