The Acropolis of Athens is the most important ancient monument in Greece and a symbol of classical civilization. The site has been inhabited since prehistoric times, but it reached its peak during the 5th century BC, the Golden Age of Athens under the leadership of Pericles. After the Persian destruction of Athens in 480 BC, a massive rebuilding program was launched, resulting in the construction of the monuments we see today. The most famous building on the Acropolis is the Parthenon, a temple dedicated to the goddess Athena Parthenos, protector of the city. It was designed by the architects Iktinos and Kallikrates, with sculptures supervised by Phidias. Other important monuments include the Erechtheion, famous for its Caryatids, the Temple of Athena Nike, and the monumental entrance known as the Propylaea. Today, the Acropolis is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the most visited archaeological sites in the world, representing the cultural and historical legacy of ancient Greece.

Cape Sounion is the promontory at the southernmost tip of the Attic peninsula, 8 kilometers (5.0 mi) south of the town of Lavrio (ancient Thoricus), and 70 kilometers (43 mi) southeast of Athens. It is part of Lavreotiki municipality, East Attica. It is 59.6 km away from Athens. Cape Sounion is noted for its Temple of Poseidon, one of the major monuments of the Golden Age of Athens. Its remains are perched on the headland, surrounded on three sides by the sea.
The ancient Greek temple of Poseidon at Cape Sounion, built during 444–440 BC, is one of the major monuments of the Golden Age of Athens. A Doric temple, overlooks the sea at the end of Cape Sounion, at a height of almost 60 meters (200 ft).

Scenic route along the coast abs relaxing half day tour. You can do everything in your own pace. We had two elderly with us and it is fine for them. They can also sit at the cafe if they cannot climb the slope. Admissions fee was 20 euro per person. Experience with the sunset was nice. Opportunity to click pictures or just enjoy the view. It was not so crowded on June 19th. The staff was nice. Since it is private tour in the way back you can make a stop if you are hungry or something. Theodor was very friendly and nice. He gave some details along the way. If you want the full guided experience you should hire a licensed guide. But it is much more expensive. If you are okay with the basic details then driver guide is fine. The pricing from yomadic was good value for money and cheaper than alternatives.

This was an amazing day. Honestly, we didnt expect it to be so amazing after seeing almost all of Greece that you can see. But, the views are in fact amazing. The temple is a quick and easy site visit, while the thermal lake at Voulegmeni, was such a fun and relaxing day. The water is beautiful, perfect temperature, and well maintained with trash rules and sun screen rules. I especially enjoyed the little fish taking care of my feet! I should also mention how well the Chris our driver took care of us. He is very knowledgeable about all things Greece and all things history. He is even well versed in how it all fits together with the rest of the world both ancient history and mythology. He is always easy to get ahold of and makes sure that you are happy! We made sure to request Chris for every trip we took!

We loved our trip to The Temple of Poseidon, just outside the city of Athens. Our driver spoke very good English, answered all of our questions and narrated just enough! At the end of our tour, he allowed us to stop and eat at a local restaurant that was amazing… fresh fish that had just been caught. The van was large, comfortable and very clean. I highly recommend this company, tour, and ask for the driver by the name of Theodore. He was fantastic and made our trip so nice.

Theo was a FANTASTIC tour driver and very knowledgeable about the areas. He was witty and spoke wonderful English. In addition to a fantastic trip through the Athenian Riviera to the Temple of Poseidon, he was kind enough to take us to a wonderful seaside cafe for a fabulous dinner of fresh sea bass, wonderful hosts and a beautiful sunset at Four Brothers. 100% recommend this adventure! Great time on the trip to Cape Sounion! Alex and Alexander were amazing and we were so happy for another lovely trip with them. They are great for families and even let the kids DJ on the drive haha! It was a curvy ride, so you if get motion sickness- let them know! Very comfortable and beautiful drive out otherwise. They will help you to get comfortable. The price to get into the cape Sounion is worth it. The views are amazing! We also had a nice spot for sunset. Thank you again!

The trip exceeded our expectations despite the fact we did not make it to the temple which was closed earlier. Our guide Christos filled the time with Greek mythology stories which we loved and stopped several times to show us interesting spots.

First, our driver was great. He drove expertly through Athens streets. He was also very friendly. We knew we would get a private car, but were not expecting a taxi. It was comfortable, clean and had plenty of room. We went to the lake first, and when we got there, we found that the entry fee to the lake was 19 euro each. We are not cheap, but 38 euro for a few minutes of picture taking seemed too expensive. After that we went to the temple of Poseiden which we found very interesting and liked a. Lot. After we were done, we went back to the taxi and he asked us if we were ready to go back to the hotel. We said that we chose the option to have lunch (close to $70 more than without). He didn't know anything about it. Didn't know where we were supposed to go or anything. But, being the nice and polite driver he was, he called his place of business and they didn't know anything about it either and said it would cost extra because we were only scheduled so much time with the driver and they would have to charge another 30 minutes or so. Not the drivers fault, but Viator and the company they hired should get all the details. I think we should be reimbursed for the $70 we paid for the lunch we did not get. .

Our driver Dimetri met us on time at our hotel. He was very knowledgeable in Greek history and legend. He was very personable and easy to talk to. The views from the Temple of Poseidon were amazing. On our way back to Athens, we stopped at a waterside restaurant and had a fantastic lunch of fresh seafood
