Sunset Private Tour to Cape Sounio, Temple of Poseidon

Christos our driver made our experience amazing. He was a wealth of Information and was so accommodating. He would stop for the best pictures and anything we would have wanted or needed. I would highly suggest this tour. A beautiful scenic drive and an amazing sunset.

Nikos was an exceptional driver and guide. Friendly and great with our kids. We had a wonderful trip and would recommend to anyone. If you’re looking to go at sunset, don’t book before 6. We were early, but then able to have dinner on the way home and see a beautiful sunset over the sea. It was perfect from start to finish!

Nikos was an incredible driver and guide. Such a great tour to an area we otherwise wouldn’t have seen. The temple was amazing, but we were too early for the sunset (left at 5). Instead, we stopped for a wonderful dinner at the recommendation of Nikos and saw the sunset over the water. It was absolutely amazing!

The drive is very long and the experience is short. You have to leave before dark and once you can no longer see the sun (which sets behind mountains). It is beautiful. This is essentially a car service. It makes a pit stop at a random lake to take pictures.

We had a wonderful evening with George, who provided a very enjoyable, comfortable and informative ride to the beautiful Temple of Poseidon as the sun was setting. George shared a lot of knowledge about the sites and Athens in general. As an Athens native he knows so much about the coast and beaches on the drive and helped prepare us about what to expect and do once we got there. We weren't hungry enough for dinner after, but George was kind enough to find a gelato place in a nearby town for us. This was our final night in Athens before returning back home and I can't think of a more beautiful thing to do in the evening, especially at the end of a trip! The roads along the coast are obviously winding and busy, so it was also great to be able to see the views without having to worry about driving, parking, etc.!

George was an exceptional guide. We felt like an old friend had met us to take us to the Temple of Poseidon. We had a lively intellectual conversation and he told us lots of information, history, and Greek mythology. He knew where to stop for the best photos and took great photos for us. We felt extremely pampered. This was an absolutely stunning and rewarding experience. Ευχαριστώ, George!

Christos was an excellent guide. He went out of his way to make sure we were having fun and that we didn’t feel rushed. When we were done at Poseidon Temple, he booked us a table at a local seafront restaurant where we had an amazing meal with a great view on the coast. I accidentally left my sunglasses in his vehicle and a day later he found them and actually brought them to my hotel. I highly recommend this experience!

If you’re debating whether to book a private tour to the Temple of Poseidon, stop debating and just do it — especially if you can get George as your driver. From the moment we set off, George made the experience feel personal rather than transactional. He was warm, genuinely kind-hearted, and had a natural gift for engaging with our pre-teen son in a way that kept him interested and excited the whole day. That alone is worth five stars. His knowledge of the area was impressive — he showed us the very best of Athens before we headed out to Cape Sounion, and the temple itself was every bit as breathtaking as we hoped. But the real surprise was a lake stop along the way that we never would have found on our own. A true hidden gem, and honestly one of the highlights of our entire trip. We’re already talking about going back. If you want a tour that feels tailored, unhurried, and full of authentic local insight, this is it. George, thank you — you made a wonderful day truly unforgettable.

Me and my wife did the sunset tour...it was amazing beautiful views and out tour guild was george he was wonderful and very knowledgeable the culture and history of Athens,he even took us to and wonderful restaurant,and he stopped for ice cream.if I could give george a 20 plus star rating I would if your planning a trip to Athens,the sunset tour is a must see.and ask for george

Such an amazing tour, Chris was absolutely hands-down, the best tour guide, not only did he take us to Poseidon, but he also stopped in several areas so we could get pictures along the way. Wouldn’t quite get to see the sunset because we felt like we’d been there long enough and we decided to go get something to eat and Chris suggested a wonderful sea food place…. definitely take his recommendation for the fish. It was simply amazing and I might add. I’m not even a fish eater, but this was the best fish I’ve ever had.(the catch of the day red snapper)
