Sunset or sunrise bicycle tour around Angkor Wat and nearby temples

Description
Choose an early start to catch the sunrise at Angkor Wat, or opt for a leisurely mid-morning start and sunset at the stunning summit of Phnom Bakheng. We’ll provide bicycles and water for your day, and our expert Khmer guide will lead you on beautiful, unspoiled cycling routes amid the Angkor temples in the national park. If you don’t already have an Angkor Pass, we can stop at the Angkor Ticket Office for you to purchase one. Ta Prohm, Bayon at the heart of Angkor Thom, Phnom Bakheng, and of course Angkor Wat are some of the most famous jungle temples in the world, immortalized in films like the 2001 movie "Tomb Raider." This tour, guided by a local Khmer expert, includes all of these sites. Our guide will enhance your experience of our greatest cultural treasures and ensure you create lasting memories. Explore these sites at a gentle pace, in a way that minimizes environmental impact. This is a great option for active travelers.

Itinerary
Watch the sunrise over the largest religious complex in the world! Angkor Wat has to be experienced to be believed, and sunrise is the best experience of all, guided by our local Khmer experts. We leave the hostel early!
Angkor Thom was the latter capital of the Angkor Empire. The road takes us through the famous South Gate, lined with gods and demons locked in an eternal tug-of-war. The temple of Bayon at the centre of the site is lined with countless beatific carved faces, gazing eternally at the surrounding forest.
Ta Prohm is a picturesque and attractive ruin partially retaken by jungle. It is also known as 'the Tomb Raider temple', made famous by Angelina Jolie in the 2001 film.
Banteay Kdei is also known as 'the citadel of monk's cells'. It is partially overgrown with towering, sinous trees. The silk cotton tree roots weaving their way through the stones of the ruined walls is a famously beautiful sight.
Ta Keo was never finished, and as such has a very different aspect to most of the Angkor temples. It's square, layered-pyramid shape makes it one of the more dramatic sites on the tour and climbing the terraces affords some beautiful views over the jungle.
[Only for sunset tours] Phnom Bakheng is a hilltop temple built hundreds of years before Angkor Wat. It is also one of the best places to watch the sunset in Cambodia, as it overlooks Angkor Wat itself.

Very nice to discover the temples by bike. Especially since you get off the beaten track. Our guide Vone also pointed out nice positions for photos. In short, highly recommended.
Mr John is really nice and excellent and funny. The walk is easy and we stop for toilet and they give us water like 3 times nice

We did the sunrise tour with Sam Vone, who is such a jolly, happy guide. He picked us up in a tuk-tuk at 4:30 and then led us by bike through the dark and found the best spot to see the sun rise over Angkor Wat. Throughout the day, he answered all our questions, found us water and stopped whenever the oppressive, dry season heat got to us, and took us both on and off road between the most iconic temples. He knows the best spots for photos, and stopped at a village market to buy some unique fruits we had never seen before. Highly recommend!!

Our sunset biking tour was wonderful. Pum was a really excellent tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. He went out of his way to make sure that everyone in our group was comfortable and that we saw all the things we were interested in. In addition, the sites themselves, and especially Angkor Wat, are truly spectacular, and visiting them by bike was great.

Horrible. They canceled the tour and i did not get message until the morning i was supposed to be picked up. I was out all day the previous morning day and did not see message. Apparently no one else booked and they should have stated that there was a minimum or not taken my money. It ruined my entire schedule. I stayed in Siem Reap with the intent to go 2 days and bought the 3 day pass. One sunrise and one sunset, the latter being w this tour group. To travel this distance and not go was highly disappointing. Will never book anything through trip advisor again. I have heard others complain but no ive experienced it myself.
I’m really sorry to hear about your frustrating experience. It’s incredibly disappointing when a tour gets canceled last minute, especially after making plans around it. Communication should have been better, and it’s understandable how this affected your trip and schedule. Your feedback is valuable, and hopefully, it will encourage the tour operators to improve their booking process and communication with customers. Thank you for sharing your experience, and I hope your future travels are much smoother. If you have any questions or need assistance with planning another trip, feel free to ask!
Our family went on the sunrise Angkor Wat sunrise bike tour with Vone. He was a friendly, knowledgeable guide with a great sense of humour. The trip was 10 hours and involved 30 km of biking on the flat to 4 incredible temples.
