Wellington and his crew were very welcoming and informative. The hot snacks were very good and a range of alcoholic and soft drinks. The Zambezi is stunning. We saw the rising mists from Victoria Falls, lots of birds, hippos and crocodiles. We also witnessed a memorable and stunningly beautiful sunset.
Wild Horizons provided all of our transportation and 2 of our tours during our party of six visit to Victoria Falls. Joel was our driver and guide at the Falls. He did an outstanding job with the tour of the Falls. We had a very and fun experience. Joel was also able to teach us a great deal about Zimbabwe history, culture, and food. It was clear that he worked hard to acquire his impressive knowledge. We also took Wild Horizons’ Malachite Dinner Cruise which was fantastic, great food, drink, and service. The staff was amazing. From the boat we saw hippos, elephants, and crocodiles. I would absolutely book with Wild Horizons again.
Great experience! Didn't see too many animals, and the ones we did were pretty hidden, but the staff was incredible, as was the sunset. Drinks were flowing. Wish there were more vegetarian options available for food. Everyone can enjoy vegetarian, but not everyone eats meat.
We saw elephants frolicking close by, and curious hippos raising their snouts from the water, and many colorful birds. And an awesome sunset!
Pick up from the hotel, nice furnishings on the boat, good snacks provided and the drinks were plentiful and good quality. The cruise lasted 2 and a half hours and the driver seemed really invested in getting you up close to the wildlife and good shots of the sunset. Staff were friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. We did this cruise 2 days after doing a much more expensive one which advertised itself as 'premium' and this was much better for half the price.
Me and my family had a wonderful time. The experience was surreal. Will definitely book it again. No complaints, staff were super friendly as well.
It was an amazing experience with a lot of good food and snacks, a huge variety of unlimited drinks and friendly staff. The commentary was helpful and we were lucky to spot hippos, crocodiles and elephants on the bank. Watching the sunset from the boat was magical. Also, the boat was very clean and lovely (great aesthetics for pictures). I loved it.
We were very disappointed by our Zambezi River sundowner cruise experience with this company. Firstly, the tour operator picked us up 30 minutes earlier than he had communicated he would, so we had to rush to get ready as we had just gotten out of the shower. Next, we arrive to the boat and all the cushions are soaking wet and the floor was flooded. Zimbabwe has a rainy season every year, so they should have been prepared for rainy weather. Lastly, the food was cold and the alcohol they had available was all very cheap looking. We do NOT recommend this tour company.
A sunset cruise on board the Zambezi Royal with Wild Horizons for us, was a mesmerising and unforgettable experience, that we would return for again and again!! A superb way to relax and enjoy the spectacular beauty of the Zambezi River, I've said this many times but we never come to the Falls without doing one. Wild Horizons promised finger snacks. What we got however, was an abundance of delicious, freshly made and beautifully plated goodies that seemed like they were never going to stop coming through to the table during the cruise. From the homemade potato crisps, biltong, dried mango and cheese straws, Caprese Salad kebabs (with a basil oil dressing), Spinach and Feta Spring rolls, Lemon Garlic Prawns, Coconut Crumbed Fish, Mini Mushroom Wellingtons in a puff pastry, Chimichurri Beef Kebabs, finished off with Profiteroles with a blueberry cream filling.. ..These were not just any finger snacks. Stepping into Masterchef, the Zambezi River edition. We simply had to try EVERYTHING, and did!
One of the perks of the Approach group we are on was a cruise on the Zambezi River. All beverages were included and with the relaxing pace we were able to spot wildlife along the shore. One grisly sight was Nile crocodiles feeding on an elephant.
