We did the sunset tour to Stonehenge with stops at Kennet Long Barrow and Ave bury prior. Ava, the tour guide, was exceptional. Her humour and ongoing banter sprinkled with facts about the destinations made the trip. Driver Derm, was also amazing, going out of his way to ensure our safety and comfort. The stop in Avebury, which is quite small, gave us ample time to grab a bite at a haunted pub, and explore the village and its shops. Once at Stonehenge, we were taken from the visitor centre to the stones by tram (it's a LONG way. I believe if you're not on a tour, you have to walk). We were able to go inside the circle and feel their history and magic. Highly recommend if you're able to do it.
Let's get the TL;DR out of the way: this is a spectacular tour, and I would tell anyone who wants to visit Stonehenge to 100% do an inner circle visit, and I have nothing but good things to say about our tour guide Nick and Anderson Tours. The first time I went to Stonehenge, back in 1986 when I was 12, we actually never made it there due to some train issues. This second time I wanted some guarantees. Since I wanted to actually get up close and personal with the site, there was no question that I'd do an inner circle tour, and since I'm not a morning person, it was going to be at sunset. When I saw that Anderson Tours offered a "Neolithic London" tour that was a full day including the Avebury Stone Circle and West Kennet Long Barrow and a drive-by of Silbury Hill. I was sold. There was even a 10% off coupon on their website. The meetup was a little confusing, as I had told them I wanted to be picked up closer to our hotel at the London Bridge station at 9:30 am, and the day before I got a note that said we were supposed to meet at Earl's Court at 10:30am. It was already too late in the day to hear back from them, but they replied to my 7pm WhatsApp message around 7am the next morning to confirm things and gave us the option to meet at either place. We chose Earl's Court so we could be more leisurely, and the bus was waiting for us when we arrived around 10am. Nick introduced himself and made some lovely small talk with everyone before our group of 19 headed out. After some heavy traffic accompanied by some general narration from Nick and a Starbucks/Gas Station pit stop, we made it to the Long Barrow. A short walk from the bus had us inside of and on top of the barrow, all by ourselves (though that was just lucky...it's an open site to visit), Nick gave us some background info by flashlight, and we also had a nice view of Silbury Hill (which you cannot climb). Then we headed to Avebury, where Nick gave us an excellent extended tour of the henge and stone circles before giving us an hour to walk around the little town or go to the Red Lion pub for a drink or snack. Finally we headed off to Stonehenge, about 45 minutes away, and we arrived around 5pm, about 45 minutes before our shuttle to the stone circle. Fortunately the gift shop was open beyond the final regular tours of the day, so we got our hoodies and a lovely orange mug, and then we were handed off to the Stonehenge tour guide who took us to the circle. On the bus we were split into two groups: our 19 plus Nick and our guide, and the remaining folks who numbered about the same who had presumably booked an inner circle tour directly with the Stonehenge people. We got to go in first, while the other group waited fairly far back. I'm embarrassed to say I was so blown away by the grandeur of the site that I didn't really listen as closely as I should have to the tour. We just...had the place to ourselves. With just 21 of us there were more stones than people, and we had the run of the place. I kept snapping photos with literally just my family in them. I never imagined we'd get this kind of access (still, don't touch the stones!). That said, the guide gave all sorts of info, and answered questions, and Nick helped out as well, including taking pictures as needed. Weather wasn't perfect, but it wasn't raining, and the sun popped out a few times through the clouds. After about 20-25 minutes, we switched places with the other group, and we were given a tour of the larger area beyond the circle. Then we headed back to the welcome center...total time at the henge was about an hour. The gift shop was still open. Then we took the bus back to London...about a 2-hour journey ending at Earl's Court. Magnificent day, and I can't say enough nice things about Nick and our driver. We actually randomly ran into Nick again on the street 6 days later in Shoreditch. Would love another tour from him someday.
Jena and I had a GREAT Time with guides and driver, Haley and Charlie on the best tour ever!! We felt like we were super special and on a VIP tour. Would definitely recommend to anyone

It was fantastic and the visit of a lifetime. I had been to Stonehenge back in 1987, but there was already a fence around it and I could not get near it. This trip brought us right into the inner circle and it was magical. The visit to Long Barrow and Avesbury was also wonderful. Our guide, Hayley was knowledgeable and gave us some very interesting insights at each stop. Shout out to our driver, Vinnie. Be aware that there is a long walk up an incline to get to the long barrows, in case you have any mobility issues.

It was a special treat to be able to go into the inner circle of the stones! I especially enjoyed the evening aspect of the tour. Avebury and Marlborough were a nice caveat to the whole day. A perfect tour! You will not regret the memories and the PICS!

The tour of the inner circle of Stonehenge was magnificent. We were able to get up and close to the stones and saw the graffiti by such a luminary as Christopher Wren. The tour of Avebury set the stage for Stonehenge.
