Stonehenge Half-Day Tour from London with Admission

The tour was good. Being realistic, it’s really just bus transportation to and from Stonehenge, with the convenience of pre-paid entry. Our driver did point out sites while in London which was nice. Be sure to double check on your own for the location of pickup. Do not rely on the link you are given from the company as it takes you to the wrong location. Luckily we were able to ask several people including a police official who pointed us in the right direction and after some running we did make it with 2 minutes to spare. I’m concerned others were not so lucky as they said they we were missing some guests but they need to keep their departure times which is understandable.

This is not a tour. It is only a bus ride and transportation to and from Stonehenge. Our driver did not give us any commentary on the way there or back. We booked the premium tickets, which includes seating in the front of the bus and lunch. But, they gave us lunch at the start of the trip and then had us stare at it for two hours because they wouldn’t let us eat on the bus. By the time we arrived, it was about 3pm. Then the driver recommended we cut short our time looking at Stonehenge to eat lunch at the cafe. By then, it would been at 4:30. That’s not lunch; it’s nearly dinner. Don’t order lunch if you would like to eat it at a reasonable time. If you’re looking for transportation only, then this is fine.

It's a great place for adults and history geeks, but children under the age of 10 will be bored and overwhelmed. There's different stations to read and educate yourself.

Bus driver Rob was very informative and gave us information as we were leaving and entering London city. He provided very useful information about the best way to use our time at Stonehenge proper. The lunch provided was more than adequate. Highly recommend this tour and to upgrade to premium seating. Rob was a seasoned bus driver and the ride was smooth.

The entire experience was wonderful with great value . Bus was clean and Kee was nice and hospitable .

The driver is “Kee “. He is a great driver. He will introduce while he is driving. And he also will change the strength of the air conditioner.

I would have given this a higher rating if we had gone on a weekday. Let me explain. Golden Tours offers you a way to see Stonehenge in half a day from London; in 6 or so hours. The company provided exactly that and I was very happy. The coach was great, driver entertaining, ride comfortable (maybe a little cool with the a/c, but the driver did ask if the temperature was okay and there was no response from the passengers). The trip is 88 miles and that takes 2 hours, so return, it takes 4 hours. Subtracted from the 6 hour trip, you've effectively got only 2 hours at Stonehenge. You're dropped off at the visitor's centre and from there you can walk about 20 minutes/1.2 miles or take a shuttle bus to the stones. This July weekend we were there, we arrived with busloads of students such that the wait for the bus took 40 minutes effectively reducing our time near the stones to about 40 minutes (because there would be a line for the bus return to the visitor centre). That was barely enough time to walk around the stones, take some pictures and then get back in line for the shuttle bus back. I imagine on a weekday, there wouldn't have been the 40 minute shuttle bus wait, maybe half that or even only 10 minutes, thus leaving enough time to visit the visitor centre, cafe, and gift shop as well as toilets before the two hour ride back. Finding the bus was easy enough but a photo of it would have been nice. Number 8 above the Coaches sign. Nice to have option of drop-off on the way home either back at Victoria or beforehand at Gloucester Road. This certainly does the check-off for the bucket list. Luckily, I'd seen the stones 36 years earlier when there was far less tourism. Be aware, this "tour" is unguided, meaning, you'll have to use the English Heritage app downloaded and perhaps bring earpieces to listen to the information. Also, I did look into taking the train and local bus service but for the price at about £60/person and for the comfort of the coach, this was still the better deal and convenience.

We had an amazing experience on the Stonehenge Half-Day Tour with admission included. Everything was well organized, comfortable, and on time. The highlight of the tour was our driver. Although he was the driver, he also acted like a professional tour guide. From the moment we left Westminster, he shared fascinating information about the city, its landmarks, and the history along the route. When we arrived at Stonehenge, he continued explaining the site’s history and significance in great detail, making the experience even more meaningful. His knowledge, enthusiasm, and friendly attitude made the journey enjoyable from start to finish. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting London.
