Dressed in neoprene, mask and spikes, embark towards the island while the Guide shares safety information and curiosities about this iconic natural monument of the Azores. The snorkeling activity takes place in the waters surrounding the island (in its outer area), where you can explore crystal clear waters, volcanic rock formations and an incredible diversity of marine life, including colorful fish, sea stars, crabs, mores and ducks. The activity does not take place within the natural Reservation of the island, but in its surroundings. For an even more exciting experience, you can choose to rent a SeaScooter. At the end, enjoy a small boat ride around the island before returning to the marina, an unforgettable experience that combines sea, nature and discovery.

The whole experience was great. Our guide, Pedro, was fantastic. He went out of his way to find fish and point them out to us. He keg everyone takes their time to have a good experience. I would definitely recommend this to anyone interested.

The snorkeling takes place around the island, not inside as the photo suggests. They leave you next to a side of the island to practice the activity and return you within a margin of about 30 meters. Personally, it was not to my liking, as the marine life was quite limited and in a more turbulent environment, since we were exposed to the currents.

La excursión que reservaste no menciona en ningún momento que la actividad se realice en el interior del cráter, sobre todo porque ningún operador con sede en Vila Franca y sus alrededores lo permite. Las fotos que has visto en este paquete fueron tomadas todas en el exterior del islote de Vila Franca do Campo por uno de nuestros guías acompañado de nuestros clientes. Debido a las condiciones meteorológicas, lamentamos lo ocurrido. En situaciones como estas, es importante hablar con la tripulación, que estaría más que dispuesta a ayudarte. La seguridad y la comodidad de nuestros clientes son nuestra prioridad. Espero que en el futuro vuelvas a hacer esta excursión con nosotros y que vuelvas siempre :)
We had a great time snorkeling! The captain took time trying to find the right spot and we were able to watch dolphins swimming by (from the boat!), he took us all around finding the best spots to see wildlife and snorkeling was great as well. We had a nervous snorkeler in our group and the captain and the guide talked them through the whole process. Would definitely recommend!
Everything was excellent. If I could give it 6 stars, I would. We went on a Zodiac, piloted by Dominic, who gave us a mini tour around the outer perimeter of the island, entering a cave with the boat. There were only 2 of us for the activity. Our guide was Pedro, who accompanied us and showed us black morays, starfish, groupers, seahorses, etc. You cannot enter the inner lagoon of the islet of Vila Franca. The activity is highly recommended.

This was a great experience! We had a snorkel trip with boat pilot Emmanuel and guide Manuel. Both were great, showing us very cool spots around the island and giving us guidance on where to look for beautiful fish. We also circled the island following the snorkel tour and got to see the geography of the exterior of the island, which was very cool. The price was very reasonable too. Highly recommend!

One of the highlights of my trip! The snorkeling spot was stunning, with plenty of fish and incredible underwater scenery, the equipment was in great condition. Ricardo was an excellent guide - friendly, attentive, and passionate about what he does. He made sure everyone had a great experience and created a positive atmosphere. I would definitely do this again, thank you for this memorable day!
