Our driver and guide on The English Bus was Cara. She was absolutely fantastic. We felt safe and comfortable. Cara was very friendly and knowledgeable. We purchased the Stonehenge, Bath, and a secret place tour. It was a fun 11.5 hour day that felt like much less time. Stonehenge was amazing. Bath is a beautiful city. The Roman Bath museum was very interesting. Just an fyi, enrty tickets to enter each of these 2 World Heritage UNESCO sites are separate from the tour price. But well worth it. Cara said she was originally from Bath and offered a walking tour. Along with many suggestions on what to see and where to eat while visiting. She allowed a good amount of time for individuals to explore on their own. She also took a scenic route to the secret 3rd destination. So we got to see even more than we thought would. I highly recommend The English Bus tours. Pick up and drop off points for the tour were very convenient. The pacing was not too rushed. We felt that we had enough time in each place that we visited. The tour is well thought out and timed for such a long day. It was truly enjoyable.
My family and I did the Stonehenge, Bath and Secret Place tour with Nolh and it truly was a fantastic experience. We did three day tours (two with another company) during our trip and this was hands down our most favorite of the three. The van was comfortable, Nolh created a community by taking the time to get to learn a little bit about each person which made the day more enjoyable. He combined humor and wit to his commentary that was much appreciated. This was without a doubt one of our favorite activities of our trip.
Alex is very knowledgeable about all things with London and all the places we visited. He was very interactive and also wanted to know our knowledge of British history during the ride. I really enjoyed his sense of humor. Alex is an excellent driver and was very attentive to our needs and comfort. I highly recommend The English Bus Tour!
Meeting place & time were well defined. Two busses showed up for two different tours. Both operators were well organized, knew exactly who was on which tour, and provided the standard safety briefing. Our operator was Val. She has in-depth knowledge of the sites we went to and her presentation style is enthusiastic. She mentioned one of her interests was history and it showed during her presentations. Not only does she know the facts, but she also has knowledge of the more recent discoveries, studies, and the impacts. Val gave clear cut instructions at each site as to how to access it, the return time and location. Driving to/from the sites was uneventful and she professionally navigated the London traffic with ease. Val is truly a guide and its up to you to discover beyond that. She did offer a short walking tour in Bath. We went to Stone Henge, Bath, and a "Secret Place". Be aware this is an all day excursion. Trying to fit Windsor into this tour in a single day is too much.
Hi there, Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a thorough account of your day! We're so pleased everything ran smoothly from the meeting point onwards, and that the organisation and safety briefing gave you confidence right from the start. Val is an absolute gem — her knowledge of the sites (and her genuine love of history) really does shine through, and we're thrilled she gave you that little bit extra at each stop, right down to the bonus walking tour in Bath. I'll be sure to pass on your kind words to her — it'll mean a lot. Thank you too for the honest note on timings — it's really useful for future guests to know it's a full day well spent, taking in Stonehenge, Bath, and a few secrets along the way - and exactly why we don't try to cram a visit to Windsor into our already very full day. Thanks again for choosing to travel with us. All the best for now, Jen @ The English Bus
This tour was so much fun! The drive was not too long—our guide was not overbearing and answered questions you were thinking about so you didn’t even have to ask. The time spent at the locations was well balanced- I do lots of tours, and this was by far one of my favorites. I would rebook this tour if I ever came back to England!
We traveled with guide Nolh and had a wonderful full day. Nohl way funny and knowledgeable and went out of his way to be accommodating. The back of the bus was a bit stuffy in the warm weather but our day was otherwise perfect.
Our guide Jon was EXCELLENT. He made the tour so worth the trip with his knowledge and friendly approach to the customers. The locations were great to visit and we had enough time to explore as needed and the SECRET PLACE was a wonder !! Thank you
We are incredibly grateful to have been on The English bus tour with Lucy. She was amazingly knowledgeable, personable, funny and shared the best stories on our way out of London (and back). The itinerary was flawless, fun and executed to perfection. The secret place was the cherry on top to the best day. We were in the London area for over a week. This tour with Lucy was by far our favorite!!!! Small group is the way to go to get the best day trip experience!!!
Wow, thank you — what a review! We're so pleased that Lucy and the team could make your day such a memorable one. She really is a wonderful guide — knowledgeable, funny, and full of stories that make the miles fly by in both directions! We love hearing that the itinerary hit the mark and that the secret place earned its cherry-on-top status — it's one of our favourite surprises to spring on guests. And you're absolutely right that small groups make all the difference; it's at the heart of everything we do at The English Bus. To have been the highlight of a whole week in London means the world to us. We hope your paths bring you back this way one day! Don't forget to check our website for live availability, and you'll find the best prices there too. Thanks again for choosing to travel with The English Bus! Jen
Great opportunity to see Stonehenge, Bath and a secret place! Right size group, and Noeh brought us together easily! Made the day very enjoyable.
Hi Diana, Thank you so much for the great review! We are so glad you enjoyed getting to see Stonehenge, Bath, and our favorite "secret place"—we love sharing those extra special spots with our guests! It's wonderful to hear that the group size was just right and that Noeh did such a fantastic job bringing everyone together to make the day so enjoyable. I will definitely pass your lovely feedback along to him! Thank you for choosing to explore with us, and we hope to welcome you back on the bus for another adventure in the future. All the best, Lilly @ The English Bus
Great sites visited with reasonable time at each to build a memorable experience, The coach was comfortable and our guide, Nick was very knowledgeable and entertaining with his stories, humour and easy interaction with the group. We thoroughly enjoyed our time on this tour. For the price, we would have expected entrance to Stonehenge to be included. Nevertheless, highly rate this tour.
Hi Paul, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a review - we are thrilled to hear that you had a good time and that you found the coach to be comfortable and that your guide's stories, humor and easy rapport with the group made the journey so enjoyable. We don't actually have a guide called Nick on our team — so we'd love to know which tour date you joined, as we'd like to make sure the right person gets the credit they deserve! On the entrance fees — this is something we're asked about quite often, and it's worth explaining why we deliberately keep them separate. By not bundling admission tickets into the tour price, we're actually able to keep your overall cost lower: we avoid having to charge sales package on the full experience, and we sidestep the hefty reseller commissions (which can run as high as 35%) that we'd inevitably have to pass on to you. It also gives you the flexibility to decide on the day. We know it can feel like it should be included, but we promise it works out better for your pocket this way! We hope to welcome you back on another adventure very soon. All the best for now, Chris & Jen @ The English Bus
