Kostas was awesome with our moody teenager and made it fun for the whole family. Excellent bikes and great information.
Be VERY sure you can ride a bike before booking. It had been a long time for me but I thought the saying “it’s like riding a bike” would prevail. Sadly, after trying and almost hitting a parked car, I thought it best not to take the trip, feeling a bad fall was in my future, I just couldn’t seem to get the hang of it. I will say the first bike they gave me was much too big (I’m 5’2” as I told them previously) and female and the bike was for a male; I couldn’t even get my leg safely over the bar! The next bike was okay for my height but this was the one that I almost took put a parked car. After the tour guide tried several times to reach a supervisor, I told her I didn’t want to hold up the trip any longer for the other customer. I reached out to the company Active Athens and inquired about a refund that morning but didn’t hear back until over 24 hours later. They messaged to offer a wine tasting tour but I informed them the previous day was the only day I did not have plans, I was on a tour and would be on a tour with my group and we were leaving Athens early the next day and again requested a refund. I did not hear anything that day or the next so I messaged again and was finally told no refund. I get that it was mostly my fault for being overly optimistic about bike riding but I was not impressed with this company and wanted to let anyone know who is concerned about whether or not you can do it…think TWICE!! While waiting outside of the office on the day of my ride, there was another company just a few doors down that were setting off on an e-bike tour and they seemed to have it more together. I don’t know their name but the address of this tour company was Tziraion 12, 117 42 and maybe you can use maps to find out the other company’s name.
A great three hours cycling around Athens with our lovely guide Statos. We booked a group tour but there was only 2 of us on the tour so we had our own personal guide. I was a bit nervous to start with about biking the streets of Athens but Stratos soon put us at ease and we managed not to run anyone over or indeed be run over ourselves. A great way to see the city and gain a good insight into its history. Thoroughly recommend. And yes the coffee and chocolate waffles were delicious. Many thanks Stratos for making it so special.
Our guide was well informed but with “a chill vibe.” Excellent knowledge of Greek history and of Athens in particular. While the city is hilly, the e-bike renders the hills irrelevant; that is, not a challenge to navigate..
I had an off-season solo ride led by Renata. She did a great job and was easy to understand. The e-bike offered nice assistance, so this is an effortless ride.
George is an excellent tour guide. Very knowledgeable and made the tour more interesting by explaining the history of the places. The tour itself was very nice as it provides a panoramic overview of the ancient city.
Joanna was fantastic- very informative on the history of Athensand great recommendations on local spots. We would highly recommend this e-bike tour, a highlight of our trip!!
was amazing, George was super sweet and was totally worth it, 100% recommend doing this tour, was the highlight of our trip!
We had a beautiful tour with a e-bike (useful!), Thalis was very nice and knowledgeable. Definitely recommended to discover a little of the city’s history and a good starting point to get your bearings.
Lots of fun and views of the classic sights that you wouldn’t otherwise find on your own. It was an easy ride without too many obstacles considering you were in Athens. Our guide Kostas was really lovely.
