Regrettable incident on this tour. All the places to visit had been chosen with Viator; from now on I will be careful. On this tour, they sent me the tickets 18 minutes after the event had started. I requested my refund and they indicated that no, because I was not at the event, when I arrived 15 minutes early. It is a shame that because of one event, I have to look for another alternative to get to know such wonderful countries. I even paid twice on this application for the Lake Como tour because the first time, I mistakenly bought the wrong date. When one makes a mistake, it is necessary to acknowledge the error. On this occasion, I arrived on time but it was not possible for them to assist me. On other tours with this application, they contact you 1 or 2 days before taking the trip via WhatsApp, they welcome you, and they give you precise instructions on how to arrive. On this occasion, I had to write to them at 11:32 to ask about my tickets and they were sent 18 minutes later. It is not a matter of money, it is the quality of the service and the treatment of customers. Added to this is the attention received by foreigners who come to see majestic buildings, and I am saddened to have this type of treatment by people who I feel do not have enough experience to deal with their customers. I am requesting a refund of the money again since it was approximately $200 euros that were not used and I would prefer to use them on other tours. Because the next countries to visit in this period are Spain and Paris. I no longer had the opportunity to see the inside of the Duomo because of issues like the ones I am describing. I will hardly return to see it. It is regrettable that I did not do so because of situations like the one already described.
Our guide was very knowledgeable and interesting. I had been to the Duomo before but visiting in a tour is well worth the time and money.
Communication from the company was excellent. We were struggling to find the meet point and at the time of meet I received a call just checking we were on our way. The lady I spoke to gave us clear and considered directions to exactly where the tour guide was, of which we were really grateful. The tour itself was informative if a little dry. At times it felt a little formulaic and at no point did the guide ask if we had any questions. I think it also needs pointing out that despite the social media photos of people in shorts within the church I was immediately told that I probably would be refused entry and had to pop to Zara to buy trousers! I’m 54….i don’t wear hot pants. My shorts were mid thigh. My husband’s were an inch longer than mine, as were another lady’s on the tour. Neither of them were asked to cover up! Literally the difference was about an inch or two. When we got inside lots of people were wearing shorts and dresses of equally the same length. This issue felt personal and random. I did not rock up looking like Daisy Duke!! I wish! I totally respect the premise that churches ask that shoulders are covered up and flesh is not on show ….but the tour guides should not be dictating the acceptable length of a short! It should be black and white. Shorts or no shorts. Clearly this irked me 🫢🤣
Daniel was an amazing tour guide. He pointed out many things you would not have picked up on your own. Great tour
This was a great short tour with a knowledgeable guide who was conscious of the time constraint yet did not seem rushed. We learned a lot of the history and facts of the church. Our guide was wise, witty and worth the money spent!
Duomo Milano. Our guide was very engaging and informative. The tour was a good pace only hampered by the start of an evening service. However it was still a wonderful experience
A great tour of the history of the : Duomo. Our guide was pleasant and informative . She made the duomo come to life for us
We had a wonderful tour! Our guide was so knowledgeable and passionate about the architecture, art and history of the cathedral. We learned so much. Being able to bypass a long line was a nice perk!
Paid alot of money for this tour. Couldn't find the tour guide in the hoards of people that day. Temperature was at 36 degrees and very uncomfortable. I notice that guides are not easily identifiable in Italy and no one called me. The information person at the Cathedral was useless too. I am a good customer of Viator but after this trip, I will be changing where I book my tours. Utterly frustrating and disappointing. In the end after some jumping up and down from me, we got inside and viewed on our own. Next time no guides.
Daniel was an excellent tour guide. Engaged us w our observations. Had a nice pace as we moved thru the Duomo, did a great job of answering questions, especially for the non-Catholics in the group. Highly recommend this tour!
