Convinced to find an Italian guide, a guide arrived who spoke perfect English and put us at ease, so we combined the visit to the medina, a general review of English 😁 The guide was very knowledgeable and kind. He spent 3h with us showing us the old town, making us skip the line for tickets entrances Bahia palace and Secret Gardens. He also gave us great tips on where to have lunch.
This experienced was booked for me by viator after another tour I had booked through them was cancelled due to “overbooking”. I had to meet my guide at a cafe in the middle of the Medina, so I had to walk about 5-10min after the taxi dropped me as close as he could. I saw tour groups gathering and checked with their guides to see if I was in their group. I was not. I waited outside this cafe looking like an idiot. Finally I called the provider, at which time I was told that the guide had an “issue” and would not be coming. He didn’t even apologize. Perhaps Viator should screen their providers better so that tours are not cancelled last minute like BOTH of mine were. I was completely outdone with no recourse because it was my last day in Marrakech. 😞😡
We’re truly sorry for the inconvenience you experienced. However, please note that your booking was made very last minute, late at night, which unfortunately left us without enough time to properly confirm and organize the tour. And you should know that’s now the peak season in Marrakech. As soon as we received your reservation, we immediately informed Viator that it would not be possible to operate the tour under such short notice so i cancelled it then VIATOR called me to see what’s the alternatives and we didn’t make it . WHAT’S WRONG WITH all this??????
A wonderful way to get to know Marrakech. Along the highlights of the old town, through rhinestones I wouldn't have xied otherwise
I was fortunate enough to do a tour round each individual area a month ago. Whi h meant visiting a shop in each area with an explanation of what was happening and they were selling. This was a private tour and we were walked through the same area 3or 4 times. No food stalls no scarf stalls no carpet stalls. Dissapionging as I brought friends. We decided not worth carrying on so went for an early Lunch. Mustafah was a lovely guy but just not what we were expecting. However his knowledge at the start was very good and interesting
Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. While I always welcome honest reviews to help improve my work, I feel it’s important to clarify a few key points to ensure a fair and accurate picture is shared — especially for future guests considering this experience. First, this tour is clearly advertised as an Old City & Souks Tour, where craftsmanship, artisan shops, and the labyrinth of the medina are an essential and authentic part of the experience. You specifically asked to visit a herbalist shop called HERBALISM , which I did with pleasure, adjusting the itinerary to suit your interest. Then, midway, you decided not to continue with the rest of the itinerary — which includes the historical and cultural highlights of Marrakech — even though there were still over 2 hours left in the tour. This choice, of course, shaped your overall impression. As for the claim of walking through the same area “3 or 4 times,” I respectfully disagree. The medina is a dense and winding space, and while some streets may overlap briefly, the route I take is carefully planned to avoid unnecessary repetition — especially in a tour that typically lasts 4 full hours, not just two. I also sensed a dismissive tone during our time together, which made it difficult to create the connection I try to foster with each guest. Respect is a two-way street, and guides — like any professionals — deserve to be treated with fairness and integrity. I’m proud of my deep knowledge of the city and always strive to adapt the tour based on my guests’ interests — as I did in your case. But it’s only fair to acknowledge when a guest chooses to leave early and change the plan, that the experience will naturally differ from what’s originally designed. I hope one day you’ll return with a more open mindset to experience the beauty of Marrakech in full. Warm regards, Mustapha Licensed Tour Guide – Marrakech Art Tours
You can take us where you want to go and use the translation function for those of us who don't understand English. He explained it to me. It ended earlier than time, but a quick sightseeing in Marrakech gave us a good idea of the atmosphere! (I think it ended earlier than planned, as we refused to go into one of the facilities.)
Mustapha was our guide on a late-booked walking tour of the old city. He was friendly and knowledgeable, and answered our endless questions with patience. He led us through the souks to places we would not have discovered on our own. Our limited time in Marrakech was well spent with Mustapha.
We had a private tour with Mustapha and it was amazing! He is very well spoken in English and knows all the authentic and beautiful spots in the city. He taught us a lot about the origin of the city and we had enough time to see all the things we wanted. He accomodated to our needs and the tour was very inspiring! It was a great day, thank you so much Mustapha! I would recommend it to anyone:)
Thank you so much Kim , i also enjoyed time guiding you and sharing with you best experiences i am pleased you enjoyed
Our guide Abdeslam was fantastic and very knowledgeable. He made us feel safe whilst walking through the medina we are two females. He has a female trainee tour guide with him who was also great and again made sure we were safe when going into the souks and experiencing plate making and seeing how scarves are made and dyed. They were patient and took picture of us on the tours and even waited whilst we went shopping in the medina. It was a fabulous day out and would recommend this company.
It was an amazing time! I enjoy the good food and exploring the city. I also enjoy the 2 hour ATV and Camel ride in the Sahara Desert.
Mustapha is an amazing tour guide. This was my second trip to Marrakech and being a solo traveler, I wanted a knowledgeable guide to accompany me though the Medina and Souks. I saw so much more during this visit that I did during my first visit. I learned a lot more about the history and culture. He even helped me negotiate a great price for two large Berber rugs. Mustapha is very hospitable, and he will take as many pictures of you as you like. I highly recommend him!
