Allow our fantastic kid-friendly guide to bring you face-to-face with centuries of British history as you travel through time to meet monarchs, poets, writers, scientists and explorers. Our guide will make sure both you and your children are entertained throughout your visit and with fascinating stories history will come to life before your very eyes! Westminster Abbey is a splendid mixture of architectural styles and is considered the finest example of Early English Gothic (1190–1300). It is the site of coronations and other ceremonies of national significance and not merely a beautiful place of worship. The abbey also provides a remarkable "who's who" of British history. It stands just west of the Houses of Parliament in the Greater London borough of Westminster. Situated on the grounds of a former Benedictine monastery. In 1987 Westminster Abbey, St. Margaret’s Church, and the Houses of Parliament were collectively designated a UNESCO World Heritage site. During this private kid-friendly tour you will see the most famous places in the Abbey such as the Coronation Chair, the Poet’s Corner, which hosts many graves and dedications to the greats of English literature. the Grave of the Unknown Warrior, The Lady Chappel and many more.

Pass by

As well as visiting Westminster Abbey, you will have the opportunity to take a walk around the City of Westminster itself and see some of London's most famous and iconic buildings and landmarks. From the outside, you will admire the Palace of Westminster, perhaps better known as the Houses of Parliament, the home of British democracy.

Pass by

Just next to the Palace of Westminster is one of the most iconic sights and internationally recognizable monuments in the world, Big Ben. The name “Big Ben” is actually the nickname given to the Great Bell of the clock, though it is commonly used to refer to both the clock and the clock tower itself. The original name of the tower housing Big Ben was “The Clock Tower”, but it was renamed “Elizabeth Tower” in 2012 to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II.

Pass by

You will round off your tour with a relaxing stroll through the idyllic greenery of St. James's Park. One of the main features of the park is its lake with two islands, West Island and Duck Island. The latter is so-called due to the lake's collection of waterfowl, and you might even catch a glimpse of a resident colony of pelicans!

Lucy was great! Great for kids.

Lucy was a great tour guide. Knew a lot about the abbey and made it interesting for my two teenage boys. She walked us around town afterwards to see many other sites. Great day. Great job.

Gavin was the best!!!!!

Gavin was amazing!!!!!!!!! He met us at The Tower of London an hour after our tour started. We had unforeseen circumstances that caused us to be late. He made both tours very meaningful and full of intrigue and history. He made it fun for my 9 year old. She is still talking about his tours! She is a hard one to sale. When it was lunchtime he reserved a table at a restaurant so we could eat between tours. So kind and a d thoughtful! It was delicious pizza!!!!!!! I would definitely recommend him and when we come back do many more tours with him.

Great way to see London monuments with kids

We had a terrific private tour with Lucy at Westminster Abbey. Not only were we able to enter through a side entrance avoiding the long lines, but she was able to guide us through the Abbey and highlight the notable features in a way that kept our two boys (10 and 12) attention and interest. Because the Abbey is so popular, it was great having the dedicated guide as there are so many groups and so much to see it could be overwhelming otherwise. We also walked over to Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, and across to finish at Trafalgar Square, getting interesting information and highlights along the way. I highly recommend this tour and Lucy in particular for doing an outstanding job!

Entertaining and lots of learning!

This was a wonderful way to visit Westminster. Our guide (Tim) was well prepared, incredibly helpful and very knowledgeable about the history. He pointed out lots of interesting things. We did skip the line and enter somewhere other than general admission. Highly recommend this tour for families.

Westminster Abbey Guided Tour in London

This tour was amazing! Our tour guide, Denisa, was just perfect for our family. She was engaging, knowledgeable and kept our 7 year old fully involved and kept us moving throughout the tour, pausing to share her knowledge. We enjoyed spending these few hours with her and felt that we walked away learning many things we had not known about Westminster Abbey! She made it easy to understand even for our 7 year old who asked a lot of questions! Ask for Denisa, you will be thankful that you did!
