The Palacio Nacional da Pena is one of the finest tourist attractions of Portugal and exemplifies the 19th century Romanticism style of architecture. The palace is a hedonistic mix of vividly painted terraces, decorative battlements, and mythological statues, all of which stand in stark contrast to the lush greens of the forests that encircle Pena. ------------------ Due to the storm on March 19th and 20th, visits to Pena are subject to security concerns until April 16th. Alternatively, another Palace will be visited at no extra cost.

60 min

Step into a realm of enchantment in the heart of Sintra, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Wander through cobblestone streets lined with colorful houses, discover hidden courtyards, and marvel at the architectural wonders that have captivated visitors for centuries. The Sintra Historical Center is a captivating blend of Moorish, Gothic, and Manueline styles, offering a glimpse into Portugal's rich history and artistic heritage.

30 min

The Boca do Inferno is an interesting cliff formation close to Cascais, which has been given an overly dramatic name of Hell’s Mouth. The ceaseless pounding of the Atlantic Ocean on the cliffs chiseled out a small cave, which subsequently collapsed forming a small bay and natural arch.

60 min

Cascais is a delightful Portuguese fishing town, and is the Lisbon’s coastline most popular holiday destination. The town is situated on a beautiful coastline, and during the summer it is a bustling resort, with a buzzing holiday atmosphere.

60 min

Cabo da Roca is a cape which forms the westernmost extent of mainland Portugal, continental Europe and the Eurasian land mass. Around 150 metres above the sea, here you can have a panoramic view over the Serra de Sintra and the coast, which makes it worth the visit. Historical records indicate that there was a fort on Cabo da Roca in the 17th century that played an important part in guarding the entrance to Lisbon’s harbour, forming a defensive line along the coast, especially during the Peninsular Wars. Today there are only traces, as well as the lighthouse which is still an important point for navigation. It lies within the Parque Natural de Sintra-Cascais and is one of the points of interest on the walking trails that can be followed here, along the coast.

Jose communicated when he...

Jose communicated when he was gonna be there and was very positive and knowledgeable throughout the whole trip. We learned lots and so happy we use this company to go to Sintra. I think the hotel pick up added a lot where we didn’t have to worry about going somewhere and at the end of the tour we were just dropped right back off at our hotel.

An intense and interesting day

We were the only ones accompanied by José. It was a good day, well-paced; it should be noted that the climb to the Pena Castle is a bit steep! The day starts with a little bit of exercise up there; it is very cold, so bring a light sweater. Thanks to our guide who did everything possible to satisfy us.

Beautiful tour with an excellent guide.

We had a wonderful tour with Eros, an Italian guide who spoke English very well, was capable, engaging, and patient. We visited all the planned locations without rushing, the top spots for us were Cabo da Roca and Pena Palace, excellent organization, punctuality, we highly recommend it.

Excellent & a fun full day

This tour was amazing! Antonio was such a good tour guide explaining all the sites we visited. He was very knowledgeable & had no issues answering our questions. This is definitely a tour worth booking as you need to have someone who knows where your going & what your seeing :)

Interesting but way too busy with tourists - avoid it

Pena / Sintra are extremely busy places with long queues. The restaurant selected by the guide (company) is a typical mass tourist place and not the "private, quiet" restaurant that was announced.

Operator response

Thank you for your feedback! As one of Europe's most stunning gems, Sintra can certainly be lively with travelers from around the world at some times, but it is still worth admiring and visiting. We offer lunch as independent free time so that our guests have the flexibility to choose their own dining experience. While our guides are happy to share local suggestions, the choice of where to eat is entirely yours!

Great Experience

There was a lot of walking up a steep hill to the palace. The time at each stop was great and allowed you to enjoy each stop.

Great way to see Lisbon, especially with Lucas

Two adults + two children ages 8 and 12 absolutely loved the tour. Lucas was exceptionally knowledgable on Lisbon including the history and the architecture. His love for his home city was evident throughout the tour. We arrived in Lisbon for a half day on Saturday and then did this tour first thing on Sunday. It really helped us to understand the city’s layout and to get a sense for how else we were going to spend remaining free time in the city. Lucas set the bar high for other tours during our stay in Portugal and the family agreed we were glad we had him to kick off our vacation.

Trip canceled and the weather was perfect

We got screwed, you canceled today's trip, today's weather is perfect, tomorrow is miserable and will not work for us 🙃

Operator response

Hi, thank you for your review. We would like to clarify the sequence of events. Due to the weather forecast in Sintra, we reached out to suggest moving the tour to a different day to ensure a better experience. You originally agreed to this change. On the day of the original tour, conditions were indeed poor, and we shared the official notice from Parques de Sintra regarding road closures by Civil Protection which restricted some access. Regarding the cancellation: after initially agreeing to the new date, you contacted us to request a cancellation and a refund instead. We honored your request immediately. We did not cancel your trip; we accepted your request to cancel after the weather forced a change in plans. We believe our actions show we tried our best to accommodate the weather conditions while respecting your eventual request for a refund.
