This palace, dating from the 19th century, was built by King Fernando II and is considered one of the reference works of architectural romanticism in the world. From its height of 500 meters, it is possible to admire a unique landscape.
Enjoy a stroll through this magnificent village. World Heritage by UNESCO, Sintra Village has been much sought after by the nineteenth century by the most varied artists for its romanticism where the culture and the rurarilade were mixed.
This is the westernmost point of continental Europe. Here "Where the land ends and the sea begins", as the great 16th century poet Luis de Camões wrote, we can enjoy a magnificent view of the blue Atlantic Ocean.
Fishing village, Cascais knows how to mix the traditional with the modern, making this place one of the most appreciated summer spots in the Lisbon region.

My husband and I booked Mario on a referral from a friend and we are so glad! Mario picked us up at the airport at 11pm, and dropped us at our hotel. The next day we had scheduled an all day, multi-city tour with him. He promptly picked us up the next morning and had a FULL day. We toured Sintra (and did the Pena Palace tour), Cabo da Roca, Torre de Belem (enjoyed the pastele Belem!) and Cascais! He is very personable, informative, and polite! He will accommodate any requests, stops, etc... His car was clean and comfortable, and his rates are very reasonable. If you are planning to be in the Lisbon area (coastal towns) Mario is the best guide!
The tour was excellent! Mario arrived on time , spoke good english, and showed definite pride in his country. We could not have asked for anything better including his communication with us well in advance to purchase our tickets for Pena Palace. We saw so much!
We had a great day with Mario! He took excellent care of us on our day trip to Cascais and Sintra! Highly recommended for anyone wanting to sightsee in Lisbon area!
