Pistachio Granita

If you love The Godfather, you just have to do this. Savoca is this tiny medieval village tucked away up in the hills about 30 minutes from Taormina. We sat outside at BarVitelli under the vines and their famous lemon and pistachio granite with a brioche, honesty the best thing I've tasted in Sicily. Whole place is amazing and people are cooperative with humble personalities.

Nothing had changed

yes, most people go because of the locales used in the Godfather, but even without that, the place has character. For tourists, it felt, authentic, rather than overdeveloped or artificial.

A Good Introduction to Sicily

This was our first visit to Sicily, and we thought the combination of Taormina and Savoca worked very well. Taormina was vibrant and scenic, while Savoca felt quieter and more traditional. It’s definitely a full day with limited free time, but we still felt we saw a lot without things becoming stressful. Overall, a lovely excursion during our cruise.

Beautiful Scenery Throughout the Tour

Taormina was one of the prettiest places I visited during my cruise. The views and atmosphere there were excellent, and Savoca added a quieter and more authentic side to the excursion. The itinerary is fairly busy, so there isn’t a lot of extra time at each stop. Still, the overall experience felt balanced and enjoyable.

Relaxed Atmosphere in Savoca

My friends and I especially enjoyed Savoca because it felt less crowded and more local compared to Taormina. Taormina itself was stunning and had amazing scenery everywhere. The schedule was a little tight at times, but the transportation and organization made the day easier. Overall, a very enjoyable Sicily excursion.

Nice Combination of Popular and Quiet Places

I liked that this tour combined the busy atmosphere of Taormina with the quieter charm of Savoca. Taormina had amazing views and plenty to explore, while Savoca felt more traditional and relaxed. The timing is a bit tight throughout the day, so you do need to keep an eye on the schedule. Even so, I thought it was a very worthwhile experience overall.

Great Family Experience in Sicily

We visited Taormina and Savoca as a family and really enjoyed both locations. Taormina was lively and scenic, while Savoca felt peaceful and authentic. Traveling with children, the day did feel a little rushed at times because there’s a lot packed into the itinerary. However, the transportation was comfortable and everything was organized well. Overall, a very enjoyable family excursion.

Easy Solo Experience With Good Overview

I joined this tour alone and found it very easy to follow. It’s a good introduction to the region if you don’t want to plan everything yourself. The timing was mostly fine, though I would have appreciated a little more free time at the main attractions.

Family Day with Mixed Feelings

The kids enjoyed the scenery and the short stops, especially Savoca which felt calm and different. Taormina was beautiful but quite busy, and it was hard to move around with crowds. Everything was well organized, just a bit tiring with children.
