Shore Tour from Belfast: Giant's Causeway and Belfast Day Trip

Description
Operated by our 5 star sister company Elegant Irish Tours, the small group vans seat no more than 24 passengers and allow for a particularly intimate day on shore. Your guide will collect you from Belfast Cruise Terminal and show you the highlights of Northern Ireland, such as the breathtaking Causeway Coast, Dunluce Castle and the capital Belfast, all in one day. Join a journey to the scenic north coast and visit the world famous Giant's Causeway. Finish the day with a panoramic tour of Belfast City. GUEST ADVICE: During peak- season (May 1st - September 30th) multiple cruise ships are expected at the major ports on a daily basis. This small group tour tends to sell- out well ahead of departure for most dates within this period. Accordingly, we recommend advance reservation where possible, to avoid disappointment.

Itinerary
In the afternoon we return to Belfast City for a panoramic sightseeing tour. We will show you the highlights of this vibrant City, including City Hall, the River Lagan, Queens University, St Anne's cathedral and Prince Albert memorial Clock. After the panoramic tour, we will allow free time for more sightseeing and shopping if your departure time allows. PLEASE NOTE: If your ship is leaving earlier than normal we will have to alter the itinerary as necessary
We will stop for one of the most impressive photo opportunities in Ireland, the magnificent Dunluce Castle. Part of this impressive ruin crumbled into the sea in the 1600's. This castle is connected to the mainland by a bridge and was once the stronghold of the McDonnell clan. The backdrop of the ocean and North Coast make this a really dramatic photo stop!
We allow ample time at the Giant's Causeway to make your way down to visitthis famous World Heritage Site. It is a 20 minute walk from the Drop Off pointto the amazing Causeway site, but there is a shuttle bus that operates for asmall charge, ideal for those not comfortable walking up and down the steepgradient (hill) to the Causeway. The hexagonal basalt rocks really look likethey were man made and this leads the people in Ireland to believe they werecarved by Ireland's most famous Giant Warrior: the great Finn MacCoole. There is also a suggestion they may have been formed by Volcanic activity 60million years ago.Dunluce Castle: Photo Stop.
We enjoy amazing sights as we take a panoramic drive along the North Coast of Antrim, - also known as the Causeway Coast. This area is recognized by the Government as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is truly breathtaking with rugged cliffs, sandy beaches, and wonderful views of Scotland.

Paddywagon Tours has canceled almost all of our booked excursions. The only excursion that was not canceled was catastrophically bad and deficient (was reviewed separately). This time, contrary to Tripadvisor's guidelines, it was canceled again only 12 hours before the tour. The tour was not profitable for the operator-as they let us know in writing. The operator has already done this 4 times during our cruise. Finding a replacement on such short notice is almost always hopeless. I can therefore only advise against booking any excursions or tours with PADDYWAGON TOURS.
James did a fantastic job on the small group tour. As time aloud, we stopped at places rather than just doing a drive-by. Other travelers should know in advance that it’s cold down there. Wear long pants and a jacket.
Great tour! Our guide, James, good! Smaller Van, like 15 people capacity, but only 7 of us on tour. James customized. Giants Causeway phenomenal! A must do.
The locals were magnificent; however, the guide was a bit inexperienced. He was competent as a driver however he did not come across as overly knowledgeable. He was personable but needs to share history and culture of the region with patrons.
There were just 8 of us on this tour to she remnants of a volcanic eruption (or a temper tantrum of Finn McCools) and it was amazing to see the rocky seashore. Our driver Michael (Mick) was awesome and showed us multiple places including the Glen Nevis rope bridge and the Titanic building site. We stopped for lunch at the Fullerton Arms which was excellent.
The tour operator did not communicate with us on who would be picking us up. The driver did not have any signs and the name of the company on the van was different than the one on the booking. The guide did not make any effort to find the people on this tour. We had to ask other tour operators to help us. A call to the tour company was not answered so they were no help. Also the tour guide rushed us through the stops so we arrived back at our ship way before we needed to. The things we saw were very interesting although our guide/driver did not give us any information about what we were seeing. I can recommend the itinerary but not the tour company!
Very informative guide. A little too much about the giants, but enjoyed the rest. Incredibly beautiful place. Definitely go if u have the chance.
This excursion is ideal if you want to see a little of off the beat and path for example the causeway and the hedges and have some time to see the town center of belfast
All you need to know is we had a wonderful time with a very knowledgeable driver and tour guide We felt we got great value for money. Saw more than we expected and found out lots of pieces of local information as we were travelling.
Excellent tour of the countryside and of the Giants Causeway. This tour took us to the Causeway first to allow us to arrive before the many larger tour groups. The tour also took us through Belfast before returning to our cruise ship. Additionally, because we were a small group we had a very comfortable smaller coach/van that was far more maneuverable than the larger buses. This allowed us to go to places the buses couldn’t go. Also, the small group allowed our driver, Geoff/Jeff to personalize the trip towards our interest. He was very personable and friendly. I only wish there was a way to directly recommend his services.
