Tanuki Lake offers a quieter, more peaceful atmosphere compared to the more touristy Fuji Five Lakes. From the lakeside, you can enjoy a stunning head-on view of Mt. Fuji, and on calm mornings or evenings, you may even catch the beautiful reflection of the mountain on the water—known as the “upside-down Fuji.” Surrounded by nature, it’s a perfect hidden gem for those who want to relax and enjoy Mt. Fuji in a more serene and uncrowded setting.
Shiraito Falls: A large-scale waterfall cascading down a width of approximately 200 meters. The sight of the water flowing like white silk is breathtaking, offering a chance to feel the grandeur of nature while enjoying the abundance of negative ions. Walking paths are available in the surrounding area. Entrance Fee: Free
At the foot of Mt. Fuji, this sake shop offers a chance to sample a variety of local Shizuoka sake made with the region’s pure water and fresh fruits. From refreshing fruit-infused sake to traditional Japanese brews, you can taste and purchase your favorite bottle on site. Enjoy a unique experience and savor a special drink that captures the essence of Mt. Fuji’s bounty.
Explanation of Fujinomiya Omiya Yokocho “Fujinomiya Omiya Yokocho” is a lively food alley where you can easily enjoy the local flavors of Fujinomiya City. The highlight is the famous local specialty Fujinomiya Yakisoba, a unique stir-fried noodle dish made with locally produced noodles and dried sardine powder. In addition to yakisoba, you can also find regional sweets, light meals, and even craft beer, making it the perfect spot for tasting a variety of local delicacies while strolling around. Stopping by here during the tour allows you to experience Fujinomiya’s food culture in a short amount of time.
You’ll visit Fujisan Hongu Sengen Taisha, the spiritual center of Mt. Fuji worship. As the head shrine of over 1,300 Sengen shrines across Japan, it is a historic and sacred site registered as part of the Mt. Fuji World Cultural Heritage. Within the shrine grounds lies Wakutama Pond, a stunning spring fed by the snowmelt from Mt. Fuji that has traveled underground over many years. You can actually drink this pure Mt. Fuji spring water, known for its clean taste and sacred quality. It’s a special place where nature and faith come together—offering a truly unique opportunity to experience the blessings of Mt. Fuji.
Fuji World Heritage Center: This facility offers comprehensive exhibits covering the formation, history, culture, and nature of Mount Fuji. The latest research findings are also presented, making it ideal for those who want to learn more about this iconic mountain. The rooftop observation deck provides unparalleled 360-degree panoramic views.

Kumi was great and accommodated all of our needs. We had a great time. We would absolutely do this again.
Kumi was a wonderful tour guide and driver. Mt Fuji wasn’t visible due to cloud cover, but we enjoyed the rest of the tour.
This was an incredible tour! Our tour guide met us with a smile and led us to a comfortable, clean, air conditioned van. He shared a lot of interesting information about the locations we visited and the Japanese history and culture. It was a dreary day and completely overcast so we were not able to see Mt. Fuji but we didn’t even feel like we missed anything since the lake and waterfalls were absolutely stunning. It was so nice to get away from the crowds and the tour busses with this private tour. It has been a highlight of our 2 week trip to Japan. I highly recommend!
John is a nice, enthusiastic and conscientious guide. His driving skills are very capable. He showed us a part of Japan we were pleased to see.
Great tour, our guide was very friendly, informative and flexible with itinerary within reason. We had several opportunities to see Mount Fuji. Saki tasting also included. Waterfall also a lovely additional stop.
It was a wonderful experience. Sun was a great guide who was very knowledgeable about the area and Mount Fuji. He took us to the mountain where we got the best views of Mount Fuji. The museum was also great because we learned a lot about the history of Mount Fuji. Great experience!!
It was amazing. We learned so much about the culture. Miu was fabulous! Lots of knowledge, great personality and very accommodating. I can’t say enough. We’ve done ship excursions and they pale in comparison. I will only do private tours from now on!
We enjoyed the places we visited most especially the tour to Mt. Fuji. We even experienced eating Yakisoba like in a street food area. Our tour guide and driver Nao was very pleasant to talk to and knowledgeable. Very accommodating, asking us what places we would rather see other than his suggestions and also safe driver. Thank you Nao for a enjoyable day.
Sun was a fantastic tour guide. He had a lot of great recommendations but was more than happy to adjust the itinerary to accommodate our needs. He was friendly, outgoing, and spoke excellent English.
We had a terrific day with Kumi of Sunny Tours Japan. Although it was cloudy & rainy and we couldn’t see Mt. Fuji, we saw other interesting things like the well done Mt. Fuji Museum. We had ice cream at a Cow Resort, drove past wasabi bogs and a lot of perfectly manicured tea plants. Kumi was so accommodating and flexible with the schedule we went into a supermarket & left with bags of Japanese treats for the rest of our cruise. We highly recommend Kumi and Sunny Tours Japan. We will definitely contact them again when in this region of Japan.
