Tanuki Lake offers a quieter, more peaceful atmosphere compared to the more touristy Fuji Five Lakes. From the lakeside, you can enjoy a stunning head-on view of Mt. Fuji, and on calm mornings or evenings, you may even catch the beautiful reflection of the mountain on the water—known as the “upside-down Fuji.” Surrounded by nature, it’s a perfect hidden gem for those who want to relax and enjoy Mt. Fuji in a more serene and uncrowded setting.

60 min

Shiraito Falls: A large-scale waterfall cascading down a width of approximately 200 meters. The sight of the water flowing like white silk is breathtaking, offering a chance to feel the grandeur of nature while enjoying the abundance of negative ions. Walking paths are available in the surrounding area. Entrance Fee: Free

30 min

At the foot of Mt. Fuji, this sake shop offers a chance to sample a variety of local Shizuoka sake made with the region’s pure water and fresh fruits. From refreshing fruit-infused sake to traditional Japanese brews, you can taste and purchase your favorite bottle on site. Enjoy a unique experience and savor a special drink that captures the essence of Mt. Fuji’s bounty.

30 min

Explanation of Fujinomiya Omiya Yokocho “Fujinomiya Omiya Yokocho” is a lively food alley where you can easily enjoy the local flavors of Fujinomiya City. The highlight is the famous local specialty Fujinomiya Yakisoba, a unique stir-fried noodle dish made with locally produced noodles and dried sardine powder. In addition to yakisoba, you can also find regional sweets, light meals, and even craft beer, making it the perfect spot for tasting a variety of local delicacies while strolling around. Stopping by here during the tour allows you to experience Fujinomiya’s food culture in a short amount of time.

30 min

You’ll visit Fujisan Hongu Sengen Taisha, the spiritual center of Mt. Fuji worship. As the head shrine of over 1,300 Sengen shrines across Japan, it is a historic and sacred site registered as part of the Mt. Fuji World Cultural Heritage. Within the shrine grounds lies Wakutama Pond, a stunning spring fed by the snowmelt from Mt. Fuji that has traveled underground over many years. You can actually drink this pure Mt. Fuji spring water, known for its clean taste and sacred quality. It’s a special place where nature and faith come together—offering a truly unique opportunity to experience the blessings of Mt. Fuji.

Mount Fuji (Must Do)

It was an amazing tour of the falls, lake, and temple, all with Mount Fuji in the background. The only thing to be mindful and completely out of the tour's control, is the weather. However, this is a must do tour, if you're looking to see and have photos of Mount Fuji.

In Search for Mt Fuji!

Great day in search of Mount Fuji. Driver/Guide was very committed to give us the best opportunity to see Mt Fuji due to cloud formations during the day. He changed the order of our stops to try to see Mt Fuji from the falls before clouds took over, but was too late. We did stop for lunch delaying our stop at the Mt Fuji World Heritage Center - allowing us to see parts of the peak through the cloudd. Unfortunately, our best views were from the port before the tour and as we sailed away. Enjoyed the other sites and learning about the area. Thanks for a good day!!

Nice Day Trip of Highlights

This was a great intro to the area around Mt. Fuji. Our guide Shinji was very friendly and knowledgeable and kept us on schedule…. And also in front of all the other tour groups! The tour was well-paced and organized and I appreciated the diversity of the stops. From sake tasting to the shrine to the waterfalls and the lake, it was a nice tour of the highlights. Mt. Fuji was covered in clouds by the time we got to the lake, but we did see it first thing in the morning and later in the afternoon. A great day!

Wonderful tour!

Wonderful tour! The guide made it easy, met and dropped us off at the port. We saw all the highlights and guide managed to get us a nice view of Mount Fuji on a cloudy day! We did not feel rushed at each spot, great day! Lunch was also wonderful.

Mt Fuji experience

Our guide Sinzi picked us up from the ship & our group had a great day enjoying the sights of Mt Fuji & the local area. The Mt Fuji heritage centre, and experiencing the local cuisine in the food alley significantly added to enjoyment of the overall day.

Fabulous Mt Fuji

Our Fuji Highlights Group Car Tour from Shimizu Port was great. It was so well organised with the tour guides waiting for us as we disembarked the ship. Driving on the narrow roads through the local villages was sometimes breathtaking but our driver, Suzuki, was in full control, slowing down and stopping if necessary. She was a very safe driver. We made some spectacular stops below the ever present Mt Fuji, enabling plenty of photo opportunities. A saki brewery was an interesting venue with the climax being the Mt Fuji UNESCO World Heritage Centre, which offered a brief movie and a special video of the mountain as you ‘walked up the mountain’ to a viewing platform to take in the real monument. This is a wonderful way to take in the local environment and to enjoy the sights of Mt Fuji. Well priced, I thought.

Would not recommend - dangerous driver!

We spent about $400 on this tour for my family of three. There were two other individuals in the van on our tour. The good aspect of this was the ensured that our tour would conclude in time for us to make it back to our cruise. Also, what was good was the communication. What was not so good was that this tour guide was supposed to speak English and spoke almost no English. Also, she had no idea where she was going, she almost drove us off the road once and almost hit a car another time head on. This was because she was constantly looking down at her phone at the navigation. She was not comfortable with the vehicle. She was driving. She kept trying to put her phone up on the phone holder and it kept falling down and she kept retrieving it. She held her phone up with her one hand nearly the entire time while tapping her the phone looking at navigation. Lastly, as I mentioned her, English was very poor, and she could provide almost no information about the site that we visited thus she was more like a taxi driver, a tour guide. When asked information about our sites, she was unable to articulate pretty much anything.

Operator response

英語では以下のようになります。 Hello, I am the owner of this business and the person who approved her to work as a guide. She had observed the tour several times beforehand, and this was only the second time she had led customers on her own. For that reason, your feedback has been extremely valuable to me. I am truly sorry that I made the decision to entrust her with the responsibility of guiding guests independently. Every guide has a period of learning and growth when they are new, and I had hoped that she would develop into a capable guide just as our other guides have. However, based on your comments, I feel that the issues you experienced go beyond those that can simply be attributed to inexperience. Most importantly, the safety of our guests must always come first. Therefore, I can assure you that I will not be assigning her as a guide for any future tours. Thank you very much for taking the time to share your honest feedback. Your comments are greatly appreciated and will help us improve our service. Sincerely,
