As usual it was organised perfectly, very detailed information. Everything was good and perfect. Really enjoyed it and learned a lot. Highly recommended.
Cultureseekers is a group that explores many cultural and historical aspects of London. The Shakespeare walk which I did earlier this year takes us around areas of mainly the south bank where Shakespeare worked. We saw the sites of the original Globe and Rose theatres as well as the reconstruction of the Globe Theatre, which now stages play by Shakespeare and his contemporaries. The organiser Robert also provides factual and historical information in an entertaining and informative manner, he has been known to don fancy dress for the occasion. Highly recommend.
I spent a Sunday afternoon among friendly people learning about Shakespeare's life in London. It was led by an incredible host, who taught us a lot about the history. We also received maps to follow along the landmarks. I recommend this and other walks for everyone who wants to learn about history and spend time in a nice atmosphere.
I have not been on one of Robert’s recently and miss them so much. He is very knowledgeable and interesting. The detail and love of history is very evident. I fully recommend anyone to come along and see and hear this great event.
I really enjoy the guided walks Robert does. He has a passion for history and even dresses up in the costume of the theme of the walk eg Tudor costume on the Shakespeare walk, a Chaplin costume on the Charlie Chaplin walk. The talks are stimulating with the right balance of facts, entertainment and storytelling to keep the group engaged, enthusiastic and asking questions. The Cultureseekers day trips are great too. We travel either by coach or train and the price is very reasonable compared to other competing groups. For £13 a year membership, the coach trips are £22 each and the walks and other events are free. It’s good value! I highly recommend the group for anyone interested in culture and socialising. I even won a book token in the raffle on the last day trip, which was a nice surprise! 🙂
I've been on a number of Cuture Seekers' walks, and have enjoyed all of them. I learned more about Shakespeare than I expected too, along with information about the founding of the theatres in London, and the nature of the area around The Globe. I would recommend this walk to anyone with an interest in Shakespeare anxd the London of the time.
Excellent organiser, enthusiastic, varied, kept us going through both lockdowns! Wide mix of options, always something of interest!
Walk could not be better: extremely informative and thorough, good walking route, plenty to see.....
I have done a number of activities with Culture Seekers ranging from guided walks, museum visits, foreshore discovery visits and theatre trips. Each activity is very well organised and at the end there is an opportunity to socialise in a local pub. I can’t recommend it highly enough
I would recommend this tour by Robert who articulates his knowledge of Shakespeare and some of the history of London during the Bard's time expertly. He dresses the part and his use of a microphone and step ensures that he's seen and heard by everyone in the group.
