Loved this tour during the Christmas market. The after hour tour gave us a private glimpse of the royal family life. This was very unique and ended with a fantastic display of classical music. It made the trip so memorable and I would highly remember the concert. My only feedback, we had tickets included for the Christmas market with some complimentary food and drinks, we wished we had more time to enjoy the market prior to the tour.
There was confusion on retrieving tickets close to start time. We had to walk back and forth to get this figured out. During the after-hours tour, we felt rushed as two staff members followed us as we toured the palace to close each room as we finished. During the second half of the lovely concert, there was banging of dishes and general clean-up. Quite distracting and rude. The musical performances were fantastic!!!
The program was great - festive, fun, and family friendly. The Orchestra played Mozart and Strauss. We enjoyed it very much. We went to the Christmas Market beforehand, which was also very festive and enjoyable, without being too busy or expensive. Would definitely return!
Thank you so much for your great review and we are happy to hear that you liked it 🥰 Greetings from the Orangery!
The tour of the palace and concert were certainly very good, but the process of picking up the tickets was a mess. The directions were not clear and no one we asked could help us. When were finally able to locate where to pick up the tickets, we had to walk quite a distance and after we picked up the tickets we had to walk all the way back to where we started.
Thank you for your comment! We are sorry about the confusion where to find our ticket office, usually, you can see everything on a map on our website or on google maps. We are glad you made it & we hope you enjoyed our classical concert!✨
It's not bad value for money but you should know that the tour is small, only 27 rooms, so it's not the "grand tour", and the tour is done via audio phones rather than a tour guide as I thought. This was my biggest disappointment. The concert band is good but the hall in which they play is bad for acoustics and visuals. It's a long hall and if you get the cheap tickets you're way at the back. There were also noises from the back of the room disrupting the concert as they were preparing stuff for the middle break.
Dear Filip, Thanks for writing a detailed review! Thats truze, the tour is not the Grand tour and with audioguides, these facts are communicated through our website and all our other channels. We are sorry about your disappointment, we hope you somehow still enjoyed your evening! Greetings from the Orangery Schönbrunn
I would say this was good package. Concert was nice. After hour tour was good that I didn't have to hunt for available tour time. (It's Imperial Tour) Christmas market voucher took care of my dinner/drink. I think it was money well spent. I did have difficulty finding Orangery ticket office, but maybe it's just me. The ticket office is actually right across the subway exit.
Thank you very much for writing a detailed review! Its great that you enjoyed your evening at Palace Concerts Schönbrunn. There is a map with directions on our website if our guests struggle to find the office! Greetings from Schönbrunn!
