Wonderful experience!

This tour was definitely a highlight of my trip to Santo Domingo. My tour guide, Mikey, was very kind, friendly, and knowledgeable. The tour offered a well-needed change in scenery and vibe from the carefully curated colonial zone. 10/10 experience - definitely book!

Great exposure to a day in the life of Santo Domingo

Had a great time walking through the streets of old Santo Domingo. It was a jam-packed morning even though a couple of stops were unavailable on the day we went. Definitely left an impression on us though, and we got right down the neighborhoods where the people live. This is an authentic experience not to be missed

Bad experience with Tripadvisor; deserves a refund

Service not performed because no one at the scheduled appointment, no notice received regarding the cancellation of the excursion, by JRRJ Urbano Tours. No one at the rendezvous despite a wait of 20 minutes. Also need to take and pay a taxi to get there.

Operator response

We made some research and realized that this booking was never made. We are sorry that you showed up and nobody was there but this was the reason. We’ll be more than happy to host one of our tours for you in the future.

Good food !

Our tour guide was Mikey and he was super cool. We were actually 20 mins late and he was not upset at all! We still experienced the full tour even though we were late and we tasted a lot of different foods. IT was great. I would highly recommend !

Wonderful Introduction to SD!

Maiky was incredibly personable and knowledgeable. He’s been running this tour for two years and takes you through several barrios and neighborhoods. It was so great to have the chance to visit a few homes and colmadas and meet locals that make Santo Domingo so vibrant. I would definitely recommend this tour to groups or solo travelers.

We had a great morning with Miaky. He met us right on time at the meetup spot and lead a great tour through the markets parks and playgrounds of Santo Domingo. Great way to see the city.

Authentic Santos Domingo Tour

This was a great tour and I’m really glad that we took it. Many times when visiting a country you only see the tourist areas. This tour took you behind the scenes to an authentic Dominican Neighbourhood. We also got to ride the tram and the subway. Experiences we would normally not be able to have. The Dominican people are so friendly. We were able to sample sweet potato ice cream, ginger, tea, and some of the local delicacies. Our tour guide Maiky was fantastic. He was very knowledgeable and took time to explain everything to us. I would definitely recommend doing this to tour.

Fantastic

Really unique, personal, informal, and fantastic. Felt like I got to see the DR for real beyond the tourism.
