I highly recommend this experience. Jim invites you into his home, which he shares with several other locals and two cats, teaches you to cook, and shares a meal with you. My wife and I brought our newly walking 14 month old son with us, and Jim was able to accommodate the madness of a toddler. Also, Jim has taken many classes on the history and food of Mexico City so that he is well prepared to provide an authentic cooking experience (he’s a certified tour guide for several monuments and has studied under traditional chefs). He’s a British ex-pat that is taking all the steps he can to position himself as a teacher that can present the food of his adopted home in a respectful and authentic manner. He also partners with several other small businesses in the area and can point you in the right direction for other goods and services you’d be looking for while in town.
