Itinerary
Pohořelec is the meeting point and starting location of the tour. We meet at 9:00 AM by the statue of St. John of Nepomuk. This quiet square near Prague Castle is an ideal place to begin the experience before heading into the historic streets and hidden gems of the area.
Strahov Library is one of the most beautiful historic libraries in the world. During a short guided visit, we will admire the Theological and Philosophical Halls and learn about the monastery’s history, rare manuscripts, and stunning Baroque decoration.
Nový Svět is a hidden, fairytale-like street near Prague Castle. During a short guided walk, we explore its quiet corners, colorful houses, and hear stories about former residents, artists, and the unique atmosphere far from the crowds.
Hradčany Square offers one of the most impressive viewpoints in Prague. During a short guided stop, we explore its grand architecture, noble palaces, and learn about the historical role of the square at the gates of Prague Castle.
Extended guided visit of St. Vitus Cathedral, allowing deeper insight into its history, art, and architecture.
Guided visit inside St. George’s Basilica, discovering its Romanesque interior and deep medieval roots.
Then we take the funicular to Petřín Hill and finally we climb up together the Czech version of the Eiffel Tower – Petřínská rozhledna. Our reward will be a panoramic view of the large Prague - not only of the center but also of its suburbs and more distant surroundings, e.g. volcanoes of the České Středohoří mountains. From there we will return through the beautiful nature of Petřín park and Strahov gardens back to Pohořelec where we finish our walk.
Descend the Old Castle Stairs with scenic views, linking Prague Castle to Lesser Town above the river valley.
Visit the Valdštejn Garden, a tranquil Baroque oasis with fountains, statues, and peacocks below the castle.
The tour ends at 1:00 PM at the Malostranske Square, a location with many restaurants, bars and connections to get to places you would need to get to.

Barbra is the gold standard of tour guides. Her expertise on Prague Castle and St. Vitus Cathedral was outstanding, but it was her personal stories of life under Communism in Prague that truly took our breath away. She is knowledgeable, warm, and deeply passionate about her city. An absolute gem — do not miss the chance to tour with her!
Hi Stacy, we are glad you found a gem in our Hidden gems tours! It warms our hearts to hear this about Barbora and we'll make sure this gets to her as soon as possible. Most importantly, we're very happy you've enjoyed the tour and hopefully your whole day! Best, Martin
A wonderful gothic cathedral, perfect line at the box office, they give you the ticket with the map , great cumulative price advice to add the bell tower view of the wonderful city
Thank you for your lovely review! We’re happy you enjoyed the beautiful Gothic cathedral and found the ticket process smooth and good value. The bell tower view is indeed wonderful — great recommendation! 😊
Superb, richly decorated and preserved library. In the autumn, the colours of the park surrounding the monastery returned an exceptional pomp, the site is absolutely worth a visit!
Merci beaucoup!
Adam was excellent. He knew his history and was made the day an enjoyable experience. While Prague has some significant elevation changes, we seemed to be walking downhill all day. History, food, beer made for an informative day.
We very much enjoyed our walk with Barbara, learning the importance and history of many of Prague’s “hidden gems!” Highly recommended
Thank you very much for your review!
This was just a wonderful day visiting sites that were all centrally located and yet somehow a little off the beaten path. Unlike the big sites that are overwhelmed with tourists by late morning, I kept wondering why more tourists weren't around us all day long. I would argue that some of the things that we saw on this tour were as beautiful as anything we saw on the tours of the more well-known sites, but we could take the time to explore and enjoy them with our guide because they weren't anywhere near as busy. The highlights for me were Saint Nicholas church and the unbelievably beautiful libraries at the monastery - but everything we saw that day was special. This tour should not be a replacement of a visit to all of the iconic sites in Prague, but if you have a week to spend in the city like we did, this tour is well worth your time later in the week. In particular, our guide was accommodating, thoughtful, and well informed and made the experience all the better.
Thank you kindly for your lovely feedback!
Communication on where and when to start the tour was excellent with was able to meet our guide with ease. The tour itself was informative, flexible and our guide ensured we stayed on track for timing while meeting our tempo. We never felt rushed and our guide was a wealth of information as we peppered him with a ton of questions. He is professional, knowledgeable and so very personable, putting us at ease immediately. We knew that we were in good hands and had no worries. His recommendations were top notched and had a ton of options for lunch. Overall, an excellent tour and would definitely recommend!
Thank you kindly for your lovely feedback!
Fantastic trip. Lots of walking. Learned lots of history. Food was ok. Tour guide very knowledgeable and very nice. The river cruise at the end was very relaxing. Would recommend.
Hi! You probably rated wrong tour ;)
Barbara was a great ambassador for her city. Sharing stories about growing up under Soviet occupation to how the city has changed today. She took us all over the city including some spots like the Library and Loretta that you might - and shoudlnt miss! Highly recommended.
Thank you very much!
Barbora was brilliant. Wonderful knowledge and very informative about the secret treasures of Praha and its history.
