Street Food, Cultural & Historical Private Tour (Taxi & Walking, around 3 hours) A slice about Vietnam, stories not written by the victors (culture, social, history, economy) The change of each place you visit in the past years. A slice of history about boat-man people from Guangdong, Chew Chow, Fujian, Hainan immigrating to Vietnam in the late of 17th century. Food-tour: we take you to places where less touristy, locally famous food (6-8 typical dishes, juice, sugar cane, beer) *Note: You pay for your food & drinks The menu will be customize according to your special requests (lactose-free, peanut-free, vegan...) Itinerary
We meet up at a restaurant famous for chicken & fish noodle, a typical dish brought by immigrants since the ate of 17 century. They changed its ingredients and flavor to adapt local's taste. Local stands a line in the morning, specially. You try the first dish in the tour package there. Walk to the place where worship the mother of the sea, less touristy, hear stories about boat-man, they also play an important role in Vietnam economy. Visit a beautiful shrine & nostalgic apartment compound built by American around 60 years ago. Try grilled banana coconut milk by old lady since 1980 & crispy banana cake nearby. Walk/Car: visit the other side of river, to try many foods there (Sizzling pancake with coconut shoot specialty, beef noodle, snail - must try when in Saigon, sugarcane...) Walk through a night market where selling flower, poultry, seafood, veggies. Walk through Mong bridge to take some photos of the city with night lights. Take you back by taxi.

The tour guide did not bother showing up. I waited at the restaurant for them. I contacted customer service at Viator. They contacted the tour guide and they said they weren’t able to accommodate me. They did not bother to cancel with me ahead of time.
The guide was fantastic! She shared lots of good information and took us to some ‘tasty locations. Very interactive, catered to our interests.
Highly recommend this tour, a hybrid of food tour and cultural, historical places and stories. We tried many delicious foods, remember empty your stomach before starting the tour. Thuy, a top-notch guide, not only about food tour, but her experience, stories about Vietnam is very valuable. Highly recommend.
