8:00: We will pick you up at your hotel to start the Cu Chi Tunnels Half-Day Tour. We arrive in Cu Chi Tunnels (Ben Dinh or Ben Duoc). Then we will watch a propaganda film a wartime propaganda film showing how local guerilla fighters were “American Killing Heroes” (a short introductory video showing how the tunnels were constructed). We then spend the next hour exploring the maze of tunnels in Cu Chi. Also on display are various mantraps and the remains of an American tank as well as numerous bomb craters made by 500-pound bombs dropped by B52 bombers. Also, you can try real gun shooting for extra (only for over 18 year-olds). At 02.30 pm – 03.00 pm, we arrive in Ho Chi Minh City and finish Cu Chi Tunnels Half-Day Tour.

We had a fantastic day with Max visiting the Cu Chi Tunnels, and I honestly couldn’t recommend him highly enough. From the moment we booked, Max was incredibly helpful, responsive and accommodating. He kept us informed throughout, answered all our questions and made sure everything ran smoothly. He was also thoughtful enough to share information and recommendations beyond the basic tour. What really made the day special was Max’s knowledge and the way he brought the history to life. Visiting the Cu Chi Tunnels after learning so much about the Vietnam War gave us a completely different perspective, particularly hearing about the Vietnamese experience of the war rather than just the version we have traditionally seen through Western films and documentaries. Max was patient, friendly and genuinely passionate about sharing his country’s history. He also took great care of us throughout the day, and our driver was excellent too. This was one of the highlights of our time in Saigon. If you are considering visiting the Cu Chi Tunnels, I would absolutely recommend booking with Max. A very enjoyable and informative tour - by far the best tour from Ho Chi Minh. Emily was an excellent tour guide with great insight. Emily was so lovely and gave us time to answer all our questions.
