Rouen & Monet's Giverny Private Tour from Le Havre I Guide Option

Description
Rouen and Giverny are connected by the Seine — and by one of the great stories of French art. Joan of Arc was burned at the stake in Rouen in 1431. Claude Monet walked into his garden at Giverny in 1883 and never really left, painting it obsessively for 43 years. This private tour from Le Havre connects both places and both stories in a single bucket list day. In Rouen, your guide walks you through the Gothic cathedral Monet painted 30 times and the square where Joan of Arc died. In Giverny, you step inside the painting — the lily pond, the Japanese bridge, the weeping willows. Your private vehicle travels exclusively for your group, with pickup from Le Havre, Honfleur or Cherbourg and your return guaranteed. Available April through October only.

The gardens weren't really in bloom. They probably would have been more photogenic if they were. But there were blooms, and it was pretty. The iconic pond was very nice. Plus the self-guided tour through the house was interesting. It would be interesting to see the difference when everything was in bloom (I assume spring). We added the stop in Rouen, which was nice. Mostly had time to grab lunch, and go around the cathedral. No time to go inside.
Bonjour Terry, Many thanks for your kind review, wish you a happy holidays !
Pascal was our driver, and he was excellent. He was very friendly and graciously offered to take us around Le Havre to see a bit of the city before returning to the ship. He couldn’t have been better. My only suggestion is that a bigger car would have been better for four adults. Pascal’s car was very nice, but very cramped for three in the backseat.
