Join us on one of the most popular heritage tours in South Africa and experience more about South African history by taking a boat trip to Robben Island museum and see the prison cell where former president Nelson Mandela was incarcerated as a political prisoner. Then, take a tour to the Penguins main colony at Boulder's beach, finish the day with full exploration of the Cape of Good Hope and Cape Point nature reserve. Peace of mind as your Robben Island Tickets are pre booked in advance soon after we have received your booking. This is truly one of the most amazing tours you will ever embark on. You will have a private vehicle at your disposal just for you and your party for the entire day. You will share the boat to Robben Island with other guests. A tour at the island will be conducted by an ex prisoner.

Itinerary
Pick up at your accommodation in Cape Town will be at 6:00 am by a private tour guide/driver in a private vehicle.
We take a drive to the Cape of Good Hope and Cape Point Lighthouse, where we will explore the Dias & Vasco Da Gama, Crosses. These two gentlemen were the first early Europeans who arrived in Cape Town around 1487 & 1495. Have your photo taken behind the iconic Cape of Good Hope name board.
From the Cape of Good Hope, we will have the option to either take a short hike to Cape Point or take the Funicular. We will also explore the most south-western point of Africa, known as the Cape Point, where the cold Benguela from the Atlantic Ocean, meets the warm Agulhas current of the Indian Ocean. We will explore the lighthouse, etc.
We continue our tour to Boulder's Penguins colony where we will visit the African Penguins. Take a walk along the boardwalk on your way to the viewpoint and keep an eye out for one or two of these enchanting sea creatures who may be walking alongside you.
We take a drive along Chapmans Peak drive if it is operational. We will stop for a brief 10 minutes at the viewpoint to take some photos. Then we proceed along the Atlantic Seaboard passing through Camps Bay, Clifton and Bantry Bay to the V&A Waterfront.
Please note that your tour guide/driver will not be joining you on the boat or at the island as there will be a resident sight guide on the island who will give you a guided tour. We will arrive at the boat departures terminal at 10:30am. The ferry boat will set sail to Robben Island at 11:00 am. The entire tour duration will be up to 3.5 hours to 4-hours including boat trip transfers. When you reach the island, you will disembark at Murray’s Bay Harbour and take a brief walk to the bus that will transport you around the island. A former political prisoner will give you a guided tour. This includes a viewing of Nelson Mandela’s cell. You will also have the opportunity to take the Long March to Freedom in the footsteps of Nelson Mandela. After the tour, you will return to the Clocktower Precinct at the V&A Waterfront at approximately 14:30. Your tour guide/driver will be waiting to welcome you back at the port to transfer you back to your accommodation.
Drop off will be at your accommodation in Cape Town after the tour at approximately 15:30pm.

- Robben Island activities cannot be cancelled after booking as these tickets are non-refundable unless any of the following occurs:
- In the event that Robben Island museum cancels the boat trip you will receive a refund for the boat trip entrance fees. Rescheduling of bookings can be done and would require 48 hours in advance - is subject to an administration fee. Rescheduling is also subject to availability.
- A current valid passport is required on the day of travel
- Passport name, number, expiry and country is required at time of booking for all participants
- Children must be accompanied by an adult

Had such a fantastic experience. We had an amazing tour with our guide talent he did a great job and showed us the most beautiful points at cape point. We met new people and had a really good time. If i am going back to cape town i would love to do this tour again.
We had the best time with Clement Mulumba as our guide. He was so knowledgeable and friendly, and an excellent driver. We would absolutely do another tour with him. We learned so much history, saw so many beautiful vistas, cool animals, and did it all while avoiding the crowds. Thank you, Clement, for all the amazing photos you took as well. The trip to Robben Island was informative albeit a bit more crowded than we expected. Appreciated that the guide shared his own personal experiences as a political prisoner. We thoroughly enjoyed the Boulders Penguin Colony, the visit to Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope. Had some time for photography and taking in the views. Ran out of daylight for Chapman’s Point. Would recommend this type of tour for folks that do not mind a full day of activities. Thank you Jeff for a nice outing, we will definitely be back to Cape Town.

Nathan, our tour guide was amazing. His knowledge of the area, history and interesting anecdotes were very much appreciated. As we waited for the Robben island boat he gave us a mini tour of a very interesting couple of blocks nearby. He was friendly, professional and enthusiastic — we enjoyed his delightful tour of this area. He checked with us on our preferences for which things we were most interested in and ensured we used Flex Time in the best way. Nathan showed us many fabulous photo points, helped us find wild life (well-camouflaged to us until he pointed them out and got us to all the best points of interest on this tour. His commentary on the significance of locations, history, people, customs and food along the way was entertaining as well as informative. Pickup and drop off were flawless. Truly a 5 star experience. Being in Cape Town for a few days we needed to make the best use of our time. After some research we decided that the tour that ticked a few of our boxes was the Robben island tour with the cape of good hope and cape point would fit the bill. We decided to use beyond Africa safari tours. Booking was simple and all tickets and instructions provided before we travelled. Nathan our driver for the day picked us up early in a beautiful car and we set off. First stop was the ferry to Robben island, Nathan stayed with us till we boarded the ferry and was there waiting when we returned 4 hours later, if you get a chance to do Robben island it is well worth the time. After that we when for a drive towards penguin beach, on the way he picked a great restaurant overlooking an harbour. Penguin beach was a delight and a must visit. The over to cape of good hope (very windy) for photo opportunity and then cape point. After this we did the drive back to cape town via chapmans peak, absolutely stunning view and then back to the hotel. I have to mention Nathan he was knowledgeable and funny all day and we learnt such a lot from him about the places we visited and also local life and local history. We were sad to say goodbye at the end and when we do visit cape town again it will be our pleasure to use this company again and thier great ambassador Nathan.
