A perfect blend. The moving 4-hour Robben Island tour, followed by Bo-Kaap and Table Mountain, made for an incredible first day in South Africa.
That’s awesome to hear, thank you for sharing!
Memories to Last! From the poignant Robben Island tour to the colorful houses of Bo Kaap and the stunning views of Table Mountain, our day was unforgettable. Thanks to Samuel for crafting an epic Cape Town experience!
Thank you so much for sharing,We’re thrilled you had an unforgettable day with us!
Robben Island is a must visit. The guides on that island (different from our tour guide) were political prisoners there were sharing how the experience was. That was very moving and impactful. We should learn from history and NOT repeat what should never be repeated. That island visit was the highlight of this full-day trip. Bo-Kaap was barely 20 min stop. The Table Mountain Cable Car ride was impacted by weather...we did it but there was nothing but rain and cloud cover. I have had better experience with other guides on trips booked with Viator. The guide we were assigned on this tour (not those on Robben Island) was busy on the phone mostly and did not really give us much of the tour-guide experience. The high cost of the tour was not justified with this guide.
Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share this detailed feedback — we really appreciate it. We’re glad Robben Island was a highlight for you. Hearing directly from former political prisoners is incredibly powerful, and we agree it’s an experience everyone should have to remember and learn from history. We’re sorry to hear the Table Mountain cable car was affected by weather and that Bo-Kaap felt rushed. Those are factors outside our control, but we’ll note your feedback on the pacing. Most importantly, we’re sorry the guide assigned to your tour didn’t meet expectations. A guide being on his phone during a tour isn’t acceptable, and it undermines the experience you paid for. We’ll address this directly with the guide and use it as a clear reminder for the whole team that guests come first. Regarding cost: we strive to keep our pricing fair for the full-day itinerary and the logistics involved, but we understand that when the guide experience falls short, the value doesn’t feel right. Thanks again for your honesty. It helps us improve the experience we provide. Best regards,
We had an amazing Cape Town day tour - first visiting the historical Robben island, then Table Mountain with a stunning view of the city and surroundings. Big thanks to Samuel, our awesome tour guide, for making it special ."

This tour was a great way to start our few days in Cape Town. Samuel picked us up promptly from our hotel and took us down to the waterfront for the trip over to Robben Island. He told us where to meet him on our return and fast-tracked us through the line to the ferry. The ferry ride was a little bumpy, but they were showing an info video running that helped focus the attention. The tour at Robben Island is in 2 parts, the 1st is on a coach that goes round the island to cover the wider parts and our tour guide Tobani was really interesting and engaging, but added some humour too. The 2nd part focussed on the prison itself and whilst the majority was in 1 area, our guide, who was a former political prisoner on the island, spoke from the heart and with passion, but no hint of any anger. It was a moving experience. We met back up with Samuel, who took us through Bo-Kaap on the way up to Table Mountain. It was unfortunately a day with cloud on the mountain but we still had fantastic views out over Cape Town from the cable car level. All in all, a great day and Samuel shared lots of good information. The only tip I'd give is maybe bring some snacks/lunch as at the top of Table Mountain was the 1st opportunity we had to grab something.
Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful experience! We're thrilled Samuel and Tobani could make your Robben Island tour so special. Glad you enjoyed the day in Cape Town despite the cloud on Table Mountain . Your tips are super helpful.
